The pictures paint a rosy picture of this place. More run-down than expected and the bathroom was designed by an idiot, the tap placement in the shower was shocking! Unfortunately they got the breakfast service very wrong on the day we were there but I expect that was just a server issue. Overall fine, but I expect there are better places to stay.

As far as I am concerned this hotel represents good value with tasteful décor inside the rooms and an exceptionally friendly reception. They went to no end of trouble to print boarding passes and were very helpful. It is moreover close to a tram stop direct from the airport (No 10) and about four more stops to the centre. I should not consider this to be a four star hotel as it styles itself and its exterior certainly does not lend itself to the concept of boutique. We experienced a few problems. The bath seemed to regurgitate all the detritus in the system when the shower was turned on and the toilet would not flush properly. Moved to an adjacent room everything worked perfectly. Later I noticed that the lights in the corridor were not working. One lift also could not be used and on the day we left the other appeared to have given up the ghost as well. The rooms can become very hot in summer without air conditioning, just a fan. I would certainly return to the hotel, but feel I should not allow that to distract from certain features which others might not appreciate. I contacted customer relations in early October and received a reply indicating that they would be in touch soon ,but I have received nothing.

We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights during our trip to Zurich. We had a variety of issues with our room from a light not working, water dripping into our bathtub from the room above and our room smelling of cigarette smoke when we arrived back on our last evening: neither of us smoke and indeed there is a CHF 250 extra cost should we have been smoking in the room. Suggestions that we change room at 11pm are not realistic. The breakfast was the same every morning and on 4 of the mornings we had to ask for bread to use the toaster. Toiletries and towels were of a good quality but having stayed in a number of 4 star hotels I did not think the service and quality reached the required standard.

Response from LeoBTQ, Front Office Manager at Leonardo Boutique Hotel Rigihof Zurich
Responded 12 Feb 2020
Dear Morag, Thank you very much for taking the time to write your Feedback and of course for your stay. I am very sorry to read that you did not enjoy your stay with us, I comment that we are already doing some renovations to put the nicer rooms than before. Obviously larger renovations would not be possible because our building is protected by the state. I wish anyway that you can give us a new opportunity to change your opinion! I wish you a good time! Sincerely, Adriana Mayor Front Office Manager

It’s a nice, clean, hotel with pleasant staff. As with many small hotels in Europe, there is no AC, so if it’s during the summer, you’ll be warm. The breakfast was “ok”, but get their early, as when something is gone, it’s gone (you’re left with whatever is left). The hotel is in a good location to catch the tram to see the sights, but it isn’t close to any sites. The neighborhood was quiet and so the city noise didn’t disturb us. Overall, a nice place if you know what to expect. Oh, one last thing, do not use the sofa beds! Sleeping on the floor was better.

Luck favored us as the weather was cool, and AC was not required. We chose this Hotel because of the walking distance from the tram stop - just about 120 meters away..You can easily walk down to Train or Bus Station (as it is down hill) but recommend to take tram on way back (as it is uphill)..We had room facing the roadside and we were worried we would have a quite sleep, but thankfully there was not much traffic on that night. Rooms and bathroom are compact, so dont expect much space to move around..Staff was ok, no complaints. CHeck In - Check out process was smooth for us..

An otherwise nice hotel is ruined by a lack of air conditioning! The hotel is in a quiet location (not many restaurants or bars within 15 minutes walk) but is not the most central. The walk from Zurich train station is a VERY steep one up many steps and hills ... not fun with a case. The room itself was a good size and had good toiletries and a fridge but in 2019 I would expect air conditioning as standard. It was very uncomfortable to sleep in the heat of July and the fan provided in the room was no help at all!

The hotel location is good, but have limited parking in the back with no direct access to the hotel. Room size is on the small size, and a very tight bathroom. The hotel is clean, but no A/C at all. During the summer time, I would not recommend this place at all, as I wasn't able to have a good night sleep with only one desk fan at above 30 celcius degree. I recommend you look elsewhere with A/C, or have a restless night...

Very Comfortable room but hot 🥵 no air . Evenings better when room cooled off. Bed very comfortable for a good sleep. Breakfast nice but Saturday bacon and no eggs then eggs came and no bacon .😔 The shower stall very close. Staff 100% Friendly and helpful. I would do it again.

Firstly I acknowledge there is a heatwave. But we came prepared with our own fan to add to the one provided. The first issue is how unhelpful and almost rude the check in person was. Once you park out the back there is no rear access so you then have to wheel your luggage all the way around the block to the front door. The room was a spacious corner room which was so hot when we arrived because the shutters were up and curtains open. The huge surprise was the church bell clock which dings 24/7 not just on the hour but every 15 minutes. 1 ding at quarter past, 2 dings at half past and 3 dings at quarter to. Then the dings on the hour. When you have to have every window and door open to cool the room it is impossible to sleep. Second issue is the corner room has no security on the balcony. Anyone could come in any window or door from the balcony from the main passage. There could be room based portable cooling provided by the hotel either evaporative or other which would provide some relief. The fan provided by the hotel failed. This was reported and we were advised it would be replaced. This did not occur and there was no care factor from the hotel staff. We moved hotels and to be honest the check out staff member was the nicest staff member on staff. Despite a prepaid stay and no option for a refund the check out man was so nice, caring and polite. The stay was a disaster and we moved to another hotel and were instantly impressed with customer service and focus on quality and customer experience. This hotel in the heatwave was one of the worst experiences around the world. I am sure in winter this place would be perfect. But anything over 20 degrees would not be comfortable. And customer service is almost non existence.

I was in this Hotel in my short stay in Zurich just for a couple of days. I felt home and i would surely go back. The staff in the reseption are helful and the Moroccan guy in Rigihof is a welcoming person and hat some talks together and offered me a good service. I would recommend this Hotel but also going down to the Rigihof Resturant for a drink or a meal was fantastic...
