This hotel is centrally located in Zurich near the train station. There is no AC so with an open window it is quite noisy. The beds are comfortable and the breakfast excellent. The service is terrible. Bathroom glasses were not replaced, coffe cups not replenished. No hat water and very little pressure for your shower. We asked for new light bulbs in the bathroom the first day, they never came to fix it. The night clerk was very abrupt when we asked for directions or help locating a restaurant.
Very nice location. Right next to the Centraal Station but a very quiet side street. Aside from couple of hotels, mostly residential area. If you like the idea of having a supermarket next door, then this is your hotel as there are a couple situated on the same street. Central Station main hall is less than 2 minute walk and you can go explore not only Zurich but the whole of Zwitserland. Breakfasts are included but it seems they need to upgrade their food variations. It seems like that food selection has not changed in the last 50 years. Maybe more warm food to offer and vegetarian options too. Also, please be aware that there is no AC here. And bring your extension wire and there seems to be only only electrical outlet in the whole room. So strange.
Room 408 the shower head would fly off when turned on and spray entire room. Lights in room randomly would turn off and on. Sink drain stopper was nonfunctional and bathroom ceiling light was taped to ceiling with masking tape Breakfast was good.
Check-in process was weird, had to check in on an ipad, tell staff that you've checked in and wait for a room to be assigned. A bunch of us had to constantly checking that ipad to see if our rooms had been assigned. Breakfast was good. Location is very central. Room is good and clean, mine was facing the street and it can get loud sometimes. However, rooms are soundproofed within the hotel. There is no aircon and Zurich can get pretty hot during summer.
super sweet small Boutiquehotel in the city center. Directly behind the main station. It’s the perfect point to start tours and discover Zurich. Rooms are larger than in other city hotels. The breakfast is very Good. The staff is super helpful and friendly. The hotel has self checkin and checkout which is very comfortable for travelers. I totally recommend this place
It’s ok I suppose - the location was very good for us as we needed to be beside the train station. The breakfast included was great and adequate. The rooms were authentic which we liked. We were not a fan of the self check in service when there was staff on site to do it ( people sitting in the corner on a laptop) just comes across as impersonal and rude. There is no air conditioning in the rooms which is very strange for a hotel that is located in a city that gets high temperatures in summer. Overall not bad more 2 star than 3.
The hotel was super close to the Zurich train station. There are tram services to the old town and there a few restaurants within reach. The area is quiet but relatively safe and the breakfast was good. Interior was a bit dated but it was relatively clean.
Our misadventure began with the Desk Manager impatiently gesturing that he was too busy to help us, or the unfortunate couple he had directed to a digital checkin kiosk. The room was ghastly. Drab, old, worn- dim lights and room paint cast a greenish glow. It looked worse than any of the pictures we saw online. The manager refused us another room. Prospective guests should be aware that there are old and new sections of the hotel building. Our room faced an alley, just around the corner from a graffiti ridden street just past the Erotic Shop several doors down. Because we booked six months before our trip we were unable to get a refund, as one has to cancel 3 days in advance. Guest beware. Don't check in without seeing this place, and don't expect a courteous reception. At the tail end of a fabulous European vacation we refused to compromise our experience by staying in this place and we moved on to another hotel- without any refund.…
I have the best stay in Zurich. The hotel is located near the Zurich Main Station just few minutes walk from there. The Check in was fast and staff are very courteous. The room was big I stayed in the 5th Floor, I like the bathroom and the nice bed/pillow is soft. Breakfast was really great. Check Out was fast too. Overall I had a great stay at Hotel Montana Zurich I'll definitely stay again.
We just wanted to express what exceptional customer service we were shown during COVID-19 times and whilst we weren't able to travel and stay as our country has a active travel ban at this time, the management team was professional and supportive in sorting out our booking. We hope when everything calms down we get to travel and stay at this hotel very soon!
