I had a very long stay at the hotel. There were constant problems with the booking. First I was told it had been cancelled, then I was offered an overnight stay at a price more expensive than my booking. Then I was incorrectly invoiced for my stay (still the error has not been fixed).... There was terrible hotel service almost every day. Staff was not willing to help at all. Breakfast modest and the same every day. Scrambled eggs terrible. The only thing I can say positive about the hotel, that the cleaning service was perfect.
This hotel is clean and the rooms are very nice, although a bit small. They have a great breakfast buffet although a little on the expensive side. It is very close to a tram station that can get you where you need to go. My only complaint was that we asked for restaurant recommendations- the only place they mentioned was at the hotel next door, but we found a lovely Asian restaurant across the square in front of the hotel.
Neighborhood was interesting with a lot of eating options nearby and convenient public transportation. We originally had reservations with the Novotel next door but IBIS had better accessibility options. We were able to smoothly transfer our reservation from one hotel to the other sister hotel. The breakfast was fine and staff was fine. We were able to get connecting rooms for our family to all stay together. Air conditioning was much better than in other cities where we stayed in Switzerland.
We were visiting Zurich and Switzerland at the beggining of August 2022 with a friend and booked this hotel. It's about 20-25 minutes walking to train station or you can use S-bahn to get there, which is about 5-8 mins walking. The area is quiet and good soundproof windows ensures you won't hear much noise from outside. The room was cleaned every day, no mistakes here, so perfect. The rest is typical Ibis - you know what you get and it's more or less what you need, except that furniture quality is a bit better than usual Ibis. Everything worked perfectly: shower has strong pressure, shower cabin is normal size, bed is not too soft and not too hard, so perfect for me and I could say the same about the rest of amenities in the room. The receptionists were very friendly and provided all the information we needed, though we didn't use their help much cause there were no complaints. Overall an excellent quality hotel in Zurich and would reccomend to others.…
It was our first stop during Swiss vacation and we had landed in Zurich after a 12 hour nonstop flight. The hotel didnt let us do an early checkin...we were ready to pay for early check-in but there was such a big disconnect that they kept saying we needed to pay and when we said ok, they say room is not available. That went on for 3 hours then the attendant says she is new and under training but her manager or supervisor was watching us all the time but didnt even bother to help or accomodate. This was inspite of emailing weeks ago that we will need early checkin. Nevertheless, the hotel was ok....nothing great but an average budget hotel, right by train station to goto city center but this hotel itself is soo far from everything and is basically in a dead location.
It was excellent.the staffs were top and nice to us.The services were very very good. The rooms were so clean and the location of the hotel is so perfect. We slept very well.I really enjoyed it.I will tell
Poor management. Very expensive hotel for what you get, i.e. unexperienced disorganized staff, rude and arrogant, no follow up on demands, bad service (40 minutes to check in time!), small rooms with bad taste, no fridge, malfunctioning of air-conditioning (with 35 degrees outside...), dortoir but with price of five star in other cities (173 usd without breakfast). Much overrated, give it a two stars.
My company booked this hotel for a business trip. Convenient for trains and taxi arrived quickly. Bar food was great and the bar staff were happy to chat while I was eating. Breakfast was buffet style and catered for all tastes. Room was clean and quiet, great shower.
Due to the pandemic, the Ibis informed us on December 25 that we would be staying at the Novotel on December 26. Finally, good news in itself, as we were upgraded one category. So far, everything went well, the reception was very friendly, and in the room, apart from a closed safe that we had the reception desk open quickly, there was nothing negative to report either. The worst part - hence a score of only 3 out of 5 - started with the fact that when paying the bill, or we were asked for an amount of CHF. 40 more than what had been agreed upon at the time of booking. When I asked for details, the person at the reception made it clear that we had to pay a late checkout - although this had been agreed upon by email with Ibis and was included in the silver card - which we obviously did not accept at all. Even when we explained that we had the agreement of Ibis in writing and that we had never paid this amount - neither at Ibis nor at Novotel with our silver card - although the request had been made in advance and the availability was given. Despite this, the two other people present (manager...) wanted us to believe that only the Gold card provided this benefit and that we had to pay this amount, which we refused. After insisting, we finally did not pay this amount, but this process was in our eyes totally inappropriate and unprofessional. Nevertheless, we will go again to Ibis or other hotels of the Accor group, because we have always been satisfied in the past, but we do not want this episode to remain without follow-up.…
Well, it's an Ibis, so you get a basic, no-frills semi-budget hotel experience. This particular Ibis is not exactly cheap, but for Zurich, the price is reasonable. It was clean and comfortable enough. Normally, I would give a hotel of this kind four or even five points if the value for money ratio is good, but there were some things I wasn't quite happy with. Particularly the air conditioning, it was too noisy to keep it switched on during the night, but this meant a quite cold room. So, in my room, I could choose between warmth and quietness, but couldn't have both. Then, before checkout, the room key card stopped working after breakfast, which was also an inconvenience. Furthermore, there were loudly talking people passing by my room in the night, which is of course rather these inconsiderate people than the hotel are to blame for. Breakfast was small, but there were freshly cooked eggs, it was fine. The hotel is in an area of Zurich that's considered quite trendy, a former industrial quarter. It's a strange Swiss mix of gritty- and cleanliness.…
