The hotel Bristol is not far from the HB Zurich train station. My friend and I walked to it and it took about 10 minutes with our rolling suitcases. The staff at the front desk was very friendly and we took an elevator to our room. The room is basic but the beds were comfortable and the hotel was great for a night in Zurich. Checkout was very easy and again the staff was great!.
We stayed here with our kids, 9 and 11, in a quadruple room and it was great for our family. The hotel was very clean, the staff was friendly and the location was great. The room had twin beds set up like a king in the main room and an alcove of sorts with two twin beds for the kids., there isn’t a door but it is like their own room and offered good separation. You can walk from the train station easily (don’t take a cab) and it’s very central to allow you to explore the old town. The hallways, lobby, etc… are simple, so if it’s fancy you want this may not be for you, but we found it to be exactly what we needed at a good price point.
"Typical" old European city hotel. Very good location close to central train station, multiple restaurants (one very good), knife shop down the street with many wonderful Swiss knives including a large selection traditional Swiss army knives. Was probably in the smallest room (probably because had to book thru online travel service rather than direct) but room well organized--multiple places for suitcases, lots of.power outlets, desk with chair, small bathroom with good shower, big sink, good shelf above sink. AC worked but loud. Basic breakfast--should be cheaper when book directly with room but be careful because it cost more thru travel service than at the Hotel. Front desk people very nice and helpful with info.
The location can't be beat. My daughter and I arrived by train and it was a very short walk. It is also very close to Old Town. The room was quiet and basic. The staff was wonderful. If I go again I would not include the breakfast. Again, it was basic and just a couple doors down is a cafe.
This hotel is very conveniently located near Zurich's main train station- just a 5 minute walk or 1 tram station away. Old Town and Bahnhofstrasse are also walkable distance. There were air conditioner as well as fan in the room. The free breakfast was an added convenience and they let us check in early. All in all a very good experience.
Nice little familyhotel with very friendly staff. Really good location near town and trams but in a quiet area. Good transport to venues and the AirPort. Expensive city but still felt completely reasonable for the hotel fre. Offers breakfast that was quite ok
Good location, near the train station and food area, but quiet at night. The staff was very helpful. The breakfast area was well kept and well stocked. The rooms are spartan but clean and comfortable. The wifi was protected and worked well.
Nicely located just a four or five minutes’ walk from the main train station & very close to the old town. Probably not the most modern hotel that I’ve stayed at but its location was the most important thing for me as I arrived late in the evening & left early the next morning. A nice quick & friendly check in & I was in the lift & on the way to my non-smoking room. Not a huge room but adequate for a solo traveller with a wood effect lam floor, comfortable double bed, safe, wall mounted tv, work desk, chair, electric fan, small wardrobe, clothes rail, radiator, smoke alarm, sofa, long mirror, luggage shelf/rack, bedside lights & a number of electrical sockets. A large window meant plenty of natural light & I had no issues with noise from inside or outside of the hotel. Wi-Fi was ok, easy to connect to with good speeds & consistent. Auto reconnect on re-entering the hotel was immediate. There was no iron or ironing board in the room but both could be got on request from reception. The fully tiled bathroom was quite small & tight but bright & clean with a smallish shower cubicle, shower head & hose on a riser rail, easy to control shower valve with good pressure & plenty of hot water, large mirror, hairdryer, towel heater/radiator, towels, wall mounted shower gel & liquid soap. I had to leave early in the morning so had to give the continental breakfast buffet a miss. There were tea & coffee making facilities in the foyer plus vending machines for snacks & drinks. There are numerous shops, restaurants, cafes etc located close by to the hotel & as already mentioned, the train station & old town are just a few minutes’ walk away.…
We never made it to this property while in Switzerland becuase we had to return home early due to a child who was suffering a mental health crisis and was suicidal. Yes, I did purchase a non-refundable rate. When I called to let the hotel know we would not be there the woman I spoke with told me to send an email and explain why we were going home and she would see what she could do. I got a letter back that said "sorry but you paid for a non-refundable rate." I cannot support a business that isn't willing to make expections for mental health emergencies. Sometimes rules need to be bent or broken. I would never try to stay at this hotel again. It says a lot about the principles of an institution that diminishes the importance of dealing with mental health crisies and emergencies.…
The hotel was ok. Had a bathroom. No fridge or microwave. Very old fashioned. Free continental breakfast available. Not much. Nice hotel. Close to the main part of Zurich. I would recommend this Bristol hotel.
