Toni at the Reception was truly fantastic and very helpful. He upgraded us for a small fee and we were very satisfied with this upgrade. The hotel is just across from the Train Station and one can access the town walking. Highly recommend this hotel for its cleanliness, proximity to train, tram and bus station and especially for its staff and Toni the receptionist in specific.

We stayed in both the main hotel and in the guesthouse across the alley and were quite satisfied if both facilities knowing they been renovated within the last year. The main hotel is right around the corner from Zürich HB the rooms feature a nice private bath (new, big & clean) and nice modern styling. The guesthouse as new and stylish as hotels go, but the modular bath/shower unit with its semi-transparent blue glass leaves a lot to be desired when everyone in the room knows what your doing on toilet (very little privacy). We luckily are prepared and carry large binder clips and clipped a bath towel across the glass during our stay. The staff are amazing and extremely cordial. Free coffee/tea is offered 24/7 in the main hotel and on each floor. Guest house residents must go back across the alley to the main lobby. Day tour buses are right across the street for easy access. We would stay again definitely.…

Hotel room was beautifully decorated and very well equipped. It is right in the centre of Zürich and very close to the train station. The coffee machines available on every floor were a nice touch and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.

For all those who have left “previously concerned comments” … please welcome the newly refined Walhalla Hotel in Zurich, Switzerland. Freshly renovated (at the time of this review March 2023). We too had “dared to compare”. There’s still the same phenomenal location aspects of this hotel which makes it a must. It really is not that noisy during the evening hours. New double pane windows keep you comfortable and having stayed in a newly refurbished standard double it is just enough room for 2 (carrying 1 carryon & 1 checking). Outlets abound as there are many plugs throughout the 24 m2 room (USB incl.) To all … the staff that had made this place totally inhospitable previously, management has done its job and provided the warmest going forward. Come on back …

The hotel is very close to the railway station, and also to the famous Bahnhofstrasse.. which is very convenient for someone who wants to take it easy.. the hotel staff are extremely friendly, helpful, and cooperative.. the hotel is also very clean..

I needed to book a hotel quite late last night in OldTown, and needed a less expensive one! But what to my wondering eyes did appear but a literal 5-Star Breakfast! Outstanding!!! An array of expensive French cheeses, various fruits, seeds (flax, sesame, pumpkin...), 4 types of cereals, dried fruits (prunes, apricots..), different flavors of yogurt, hot Breakfast, salad with virgin olive oil & balsamic vinegar, differentpastries.....the list goes on in a very neat presentation! That's tge big hullaballooo about Walhalla! So much love in the breakfast display, I was truly kmpressed! Ultra-nutritious! And the room was everything it should be!.... An absolute great option right beside the main train station! I expected so much less, and got so much more! I will be very happy to come again! They sure don't skimp! Truly impressive! You get alot of bang for your buck with Walhalla! O.... and tgey have some free sweets , coffee & teas in the lobby all day long, along with a business corner! The best value by far!!! Great experience (5d4n) at the Walhalla Hotel. We booked the comfort room which is highly recommended - room gives out a homely feel and was adequately spaced, with a sofa and large toilet (2 taps). The hotel is also strategically located within a stone’s throw of the Zurich Hb station and Bus interchange (for tour buses). Breakfast buffet was splendid too. Only downside will be the pillow quality (extremely flat) and overworked front reception (which can result in long waiting times).

Location was the only thing good. Bed was hard, bedsheets so thin, pillows are so flat , I had to fold it twice. Carpet is not clean but they give you slippers to wear. Booked rest of trip at another hotel. Check service was rude. Bare amenties in bathroom. Didnt see hair dryer.

Although we are pleased to learn that you appreciated our excellent location directly across from Zurich's central station, we are sorry that overall you didn't have a pleasant experience at our hotel. Our rooms are outfitted with high-quality beds, and usually, our guests have a restful sleep while with us. We also would like to add that we are constantly investing in our hotel rooms, and soon will equip them with new box spring beds to deliver more comfort for our guests. We are sorry you didn't find the pillows to your liking. Our staff is glad to provide extra pillows or blankets if required. Furthermore, the bathrooms in our rooms are equipped with everything necessary, including care products, a towel warmer, and a hair dryer. That's it. That's the reason we chose to stay at this hotel. However, it did not live up to par. Service had to be asked for, rooms were very (and I mean, very small). Unfortunately the rooms smelt of smoke and that sucks.
