A stone’s throw from the River Limmat, Zurich’s old town and the city’s top shopping streets, Ruby Mimi is a great starting point for first-time visitors and old friends. It’s also just a few minutes’ walk from the main station. For window-shoppers or shop-til-you-droppers, Bahnhofstrasse is the place to be. Flanked by high street names and designer labels, there’s something for every budget and style. For history-lovers, a short stroll south along the river will take you to the cobbled streets and quaint old buildings of the Altstadt. As well as lots of photo ops, you’ll find excellent restaurants and cosy coffee shops to keep your energy up. For a slightly boozy, sugary taste of Switzerland, an indulgent slice of zuger kirschtorte should hit the spot. If it’s the outdoors you’re after, Zurich also delivers. The lake is a 15-minute walk from Mimi, or a short hop on the tram. Otherwise, head for the hills with a hike up nearby Uetliberg. (There’s also a train, if that sounds like hard work.) Zurich’s main station is a five-minute walk from Mimi’s front door, from where the airport’s just ten minutes by train or S-Bahn.

Perfect position, in the heart of Zurich, which might explain the level the price. Cause for the rest, better not. The first day I've been given a room that was not cleaned, than they change it with a small, inconfortable room. The sink is in the room, the toilet and the shower are also improvised in the room (1 sqm each!), absolutely no amenities in the room, not even a bottle of water. Do you want a plug in adaptor? We have, but we do not borrow you one, we just sell! Breakfast limited, the same each day. Very low level of service. They told me it is a business hotel...but no desk in the room, cause no space for it...no gym neither...

Location very close to main train station is superb, shops, bars and restaurants too. Stylish hotel with large modern lobby and bar which is staffed 24/7. I was initially worried about self check-in that there would be no presence to leave luggage etc but the bar/ reception always has staff who are friendly and helpful and you can leave luggage. They go through check-in with you so it is not all an automated process. We had the ‘lovely’ room which was spacious enough, quiet and nice big window over roof tops, comfortable bed. There is no separate bathroom, it is in the room but that wasn’t an issue for us, shower was nice, the room was quiet and comfortable which was most important. Continental breakfast for 30chf is a bit steep and quite basic choices, would suggest getting a rate that includes breakfast if you are going to have it or visit any other numerous cafes nearby. Happy with choice, would stay here again happily if found a good rate.

So it is a self service check, which was OK. The room is incredibly narrow with the bed in the middle - its a bit of a hurdle. The lights are hard to switch off and with additional stickers saying ‘dim here’ they dim but I couldn’t turn them off. There’s no phone in the room to ring down so you either Get dressed again and go to a lively bar or give up. No hotel guide either. The bathroom situation is unusual so if sharing privacy should not be an issue to a couple. Nice enough, well located but maybe a bit too cramped and self serve.

We had an excellent stay at the Ruby Mimi hotel. The location was PERFECT and the hotel itself was one of a kind. A very stylish bar (with tasty cocktails) their own cinema and friendly staff. I will for sure stay there again. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and couples.

First of all the Location! This hotel is a modern and new hotel in the heart of Zurich. You have access to everything in less than 5 minutes. Also the staff are very nice. We had a birthday gathering and they really helped us. They helped us to make a cake! Because it was Sunday and everywhere was closed, so they brought us whatever we liked and we made it ourselves. Even they paid our bill with their card and we gave them cash, because we had no credit card (this hotel is a cashless hotel and only cards are accepted. @Alina, @Jacky, @Daria, @Sam and @Michel are a part of lovely staff who are really nice and I really appreciate their help.

Location of this hotel is everything - just 10 min walking from Zurich train station. Because of location hotel is very busy with business people. Hotel is also very close to old town and a lot of restaurants. Our room was small and we did not like build in shower with toilet ( you have to get to shower via toilet) but we understand that this is the old building and we also had the same experience in France so we were not surprised. Overall - very pleasant experience.

Do not stay here. It was expensive and the room did not have the usual ammenities. I gave a two because the bed was comfortable and I slept well. No actual bathroom - sink, shower, toilet along back wall as you enter. Entry to shower is inside the space where the toilet it. No drawers to put things. No decent hooks to hang bath towels after use. Yes it has a closet and a safe and is clean. But in their efforts to be super modern they gave up comfort. No phone in room to ask for anything you need. No robes or slippers - this was our most expensive hotel in switzerland and all the others had robes. Front desk is minimal and is in the bar area. Staff was ok but nothing special.

Response from Marketing Ruby, Marketing at Ruby Mimi
Responded 28 Oct 2022
Hey Margarita, Thank you very much for taking the time to rate your stay with us. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed sleeping in one of our luxurious beds. They're the ideal place to snuggle up and get a good night's sleep or have a long, lazy lie-in. As part of our Lean Luxury philosophy, we do some things differently from other hotels. For instance the layout of our rooms and the way that they're furnished. All of our rooms are carefully designed to make the best use of the space, and we put a lot of emphasis on the quality of the materials we use. Due to our central location in the city and the limited space available the open bathroom saves space and helps keep our rooms light and bright. It's a pity you did not like this so much. Furthermore, our Lean Luxury philosophy is all about doing away with the unnecessary stuff and concentrating on the most important things: a central location, characterful design and high-quality fittings for top-notch comfort with a touch of luxury. That's also why, there is no phone, no robes or slippers in our rooms. We would be very happy if you gave us a second chance and we could welcome you back to one of our Ruby Hotels soon. Your Ruby Mimi Team

We arrived at the Ruby Mimi and were met by such lovely friendly staff. Our room wasn’t ready as we were early but they kindly kept our bags and we went out to explore. You are given the option to say no to a room clean and get a free drink at the bar. Nice touch. We were only staying for 2 nights so chose that option. The room was very modern and very clean. The hotel was in a fantastic location. Would definitely go back to this hotel if in Zurich. Thank you everyone for making our stay very nice.

Very poor service. Basically told that I was not an important customer and to go away. If you book through a 3rd party (hotels.com) they will treat you Like trash. Website basically says they are desperate and will hire anyone which is apparent in the poor service.

The interior is modern and funky with all sorts of pop-culture references. The room looks great and the bed was very comfortable The shower is displayed as a piece of décor in the middle of the room - separated with glass walls (there is a curtain that can be used for privacy). Check-in was fast. The hotel is very close to the Zurich Hbf. The friend I stayed with was mesmerized by the shower gel and soap in the property.
