We ended up staying here for 4 nights even though we originally planned for 1. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and no complaints whatsoever. First and foremost I want to take this chance to thank hotel city Zurich for being so accommodating when my flight was cancelled and I had to stay for 3 more days. They were so nice about it and the process went so smooth. The interior design is very modern and chic. The room is very clean. The beds are comfortable. The cleaning lady is super nice and helpful. On my check out day, I left behind something and she found out right away and have to me before I even left the hotel. Tho hotel offers free electric bikes which is the perfect way to tour around Zurich! The location is super central and the sound insulation is rest. We literally can’t hear anything despite being on 2nd floor and facing the street. The only thing I would suggest is maybe have blackout curtains instead of the current ones.…
I always look for good hotels in proximity to the main train station in Zurich and this might be my favourite so far. It's only 8-10mins walking from the train station and it's a lovely little hotel, with a nice modern design and very friendly staff. I stayed for a night on a work trip in a little single bed room under the roof. You can open the window, and there's a Nespresso machine as well as a desk, a closet and a hairdryer. It was very cosy and surprisingly quiet despite being located so centrally. I particularly enjoyed the nice breakfast. On the downside, I found the bathroom really tiny. It was ok for me (being slim and not too tall) but a heavier, taller person would have had problems with the size of the shower. I also found the pillow too big, and had to re-register for the internet every time I was away for a while. And a tea maker would have been nice. But overall, I was very satisfied with my stay and would come back again.…
This is not the first time we stayed at Hotel City Zurich. This time we stayed at the hotel for 5 nights in 2 separate double rooms. Rooms were in a different layout and both were comfortable. Beds were goods. Bathrooms were extremely clean. The hotel is centralized and you can walk everywhere in town. It is also close to the train station and was an easy walk when we first arrive from the airport. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast (prepaid) was good. We had a lovely (again) stay and we definitely be back. Thank you
This is a small city hotel in a great location in the centre of town. You don't need to walk very far to the train station and there are plenty of shops on the streets around the hotel. The staff are friendly and professional and spoke English. The reason why I gave them 4 is because we were given a room on the first floor and opposite our hotel room across the street was a big neon sign which was brightly lit up all through the night. It kept us awake as our room had little cloth curtains that didn't keep that bright light out. If the hotel put in proper black out curtains in that room then it wouldn't have made a difference but the fact that the curtains were white, light weight, almost see through made it almost impossible to sleep.
This hotel is located in the heart of the city, i.e. in a great location. The main station is 10 minute walk and Paradeplatz 15 minute walk away. Löwenplatz tram stop is a 2 minute walk away. The hotel itself is also superb. I had an upgraded room (it was called business single or something like that) which was really comfortable and also spacious for Zurich standards. It had a safe, a Segafredo espresso maker, a chair, a stool for putting the luggege on to pack and unpack it, a desk which was very practical for doing some work with the laptop and also had enough space for making notes / having a look at notes. The bathroom had a bath and shower combo. There was a fridge which was practical for stocking your own cold drinks / cheese / whatever you wanted. It was empty, i.e. not a stocked mini-bar and a good size. The room was very quiet. I did not hear anything from the outside or from the neighbouring rooms. There is a little terrace for guests to use on the fourth floor. I went there twice to relax a bit, and I only saw one other person there when a young Japanese man came there to smoke a cigarette. It seems that the hotel was not very busy at the time I was there. I wish them all the best with visitor numbers as they do deserve to be successful. The service at the reception could not have been better. A dealt with a couple of different of people, who were all friendly, helpful and professional. A special thank you must go to Sarina, who was incredible. A couple of examples: In the morning I wanted a coffee but could not work out how to use the Segafredo machine in the room. I went to ask her if it would be possible to send somebody to my room to help me. She told me that I would also be welcome to use the coffee machine in the breakfast area, immediately on my left left when entering. I did that and was very pleased with this quick and practical solution. I also asked her if a bit later check-out was an option. She checked the system, and again, not a problem and I enjoyed the room until 3pm. Of course I realize that it was only possible as the room was not booked for the next night and next time I might not be as lucky as I was this time. Many thanks for everybody whom I dealt with at the hotel. I would not hesitate to stay here again.…
After an 8h drive we arrived in this cute hotel in the middle of Zürich. The friendly staff told us we would be upgraded to a bigger room. What a nice surprise. And I must say: WOW. Super clean room, big bathroom. Upon request they had placed a babybed for our 1y/o, bed was very clean, she loved it! Very friendly staff, breakfast was meh.
Location : 5/5 - 5 mins walk from Zurich HB Amenities : 5/5 - alot of bars and restaurants around. Shopping areas too. Trams are few steps away too. Room : 4/5 A little dusty, bathroom small and slippery. Front Desk Service : 2/5 - Here’s why. I checked in for 1 night (19 Mar) before my flight home from Zurich (20 Mar). It was the peak of Covid-19 situation in Switzerland. Was greated by front desk staff as I approached but my husband was shoo-ed away. (Mind you, we understand social distancing, but please respect your guests). After check-in, I had gone out to buy lunch for myself and the family with my husband. I had asked the front desk nicely, if we could get an extension to check out later. Explained thay my flight home was at 7pm. So she told me, you have to pay for half a day charges and that I could leave my luggages at the hotel and walk around. (Mind you, by then government had closed down all restaurants and shops. We really had no place to go). I called again later in the afternoon but was told the same thing. No late check out and to pay 80CHF if i want to check out later. (Occupancy at this pt of time, is very very low). I even negociated asking if we could stay in 1 room instead of 2. But was declined flat. At approx 11am, and hour before checkout, after I had sent an email to complain about what the front desk and said and done to me. I received a call saying that I could check out anytime I am comfortable with as they do not require the rooms. I am glad they realize and came to their senses. We are tourists and all we wanted to do then was to get back home safely. In future, i hope your staff would be able to shoe more empathy twds guests who are in distress and are away from home. Especially those with young children, pregnant and with elderly. Dissapointed even though was given in to the very last minute. It shouldn’t have been that way at all. …
Nice, cozy boutique hotel in city center. It is not in Old Town where I wanted to be but it’s clean, cozy hotel close to the main Zurich train station and the Bahnhofstrasse, Zürich's main downtown street with expensive shops! The single room was great. Nice big bathroom. The bed was very cozy. I travel a lot and I’ve slept in good hotels with crappy beds. Hotel is modern yet still feels classic. I like hotels that have mini fridges. They also has a coffee machine. They give you a tablet in the room with a hotel guide, information about the city. You can also order different kinds of pillows through the tablet. Had many charging sockets, I like when they have just USB charging in case you don’t have a plug adapter. Didn’t eat breakfast 20 CHF is pricey, best to just walk out and grab a meal since there are so many restaurants nearby. They did not have blackout curtains like most hotels but I dId enjoy my stay here. It’s charming, comfortable and cozy!…
Conveniently located a few minutes walk from my Zurich office in the old town . Room and bathroom spacious and clean , bring your own razor & toothbrush as only shower/shampoo provided . TV fine with a few english channels and good wifi connection . Breakfast was fine with decent selection , fresh orange and other juices. Only issue was the thin curtains which let in too much light from buildings ( Lowenstrasse side ) . Google bars / restaurants if you do not know the area. Staff friendly and helpful . Taxi around 50 swiss francs from airport
Faultless hotel, small, boutique, personal attention, stylish rooms, well located in the zone of the old town. Stayed for three nights only right before Christmas time, plenty of restaurants nearby, good restaurant within the hotel, very helpful frontdesk day and even in the middle of the night. Cosy feeling staying here, like just at home.
