Great location, clean with no carpet in the rooms and impeccable bathroom with the European custom of the sink in the room, friendly staff, just what you want when you are used to traveling for business and need a more economic option for your weekend before the meetings. Lovely experience and felt very comfortable as a woman traveling alone.
This was a last minute trip that I needed to stay in Zurich to catch a flight out the next morning. It was excellent! Firstly, the location is brilliant. It is in a residential area but it is on a great square that has terrific restaurants around (italian, greek, asian, and local). However you can be in the historic centre within a 5 minute walk, so the location is perfect. Second, the staff are brilliant. Not only did I get written directions and times to get public transport to the airport, but the kind gentlemen then took me outside to show me which direction to go in! Really, they are friendly and super helpful. Third, the room is simple, but it is brilliantly clean, just spotless. And it is perfectly comfortable, the bed was great and it had a desk and tv. You put all this together with a great price and you really cannot go wrong with this place, I will definitely be back. I did not eat there, but breakfast was available which is a good bonus.…
Stayed 2 nights here at the end of my trip to Switzerland. Staff are very helpful. The location is superb for getting around. Near to 2 train stations Selnau and Weidikon. 5 minutes walk to Weidikon with luggage, and it was 3 stops (about 15 minutes) to the airport. By taking this route, I was able to avoid the crowd at Zurich HB. Easy when you have a big and heavy luggage!
Stayed for 8 nights in October 2021. Clean, tidy, big window, hardwood floors, and the duvet/comforter with keep you roasty-toasty warm and then some. Helpful and friendly staff. The hotel is within an easy walk of two light rail stops that you can use to get to the main train station, it is also a short walk to a grocery store and there are small, local restaurants less than a minute from the hotel. Two caveats. One - it does have an elevator, but it is rather small, just enough for two people and two pieces of luggage. Two - if you want big, resort/American style rooms this is not the place for you. But if you want a place to clean up and sleep soundly, then this is a good place.
For one night stay over this was perfect. Small super clean comfy room. Amazingly quiet for urban area. Great breakfast and excellent coffee. Also great service. One tip: the bathroom fan is on a long timer so don’t look for a switch off. Not as a expensive as many places V in Zurich so as great find
I made this reservation in cooperation through Zürich Tourism site under a special yearly promotion. I received immediate confirmation and a few days before arrival a call from hotel manager, Frau Renaud, which was nice. Check-in with receptionist Markus went smoothly. Markus was friendly, welcoming, and advised me of all the hotel procedures during the current Covid-19 situation. The hotel also presented me with a package of Xmas chocolates as part of the check-in. My room was most cozy. I large comfortable double bed, work desk and chairs, wall-mounted TV, hair dryer (provided at reception), bed nightstands, clothes rack, dresser for clothing, sink, mirror. During my stay, breakfast options were not available due to the Covid situation. Hotel St. Georges offers a nice off street location, but within a few minutes’ walk to Stauffacherplatz, Wiedikon, Enge and more. Their lobby offers a nice seating area of sofas, a wall-mounted TV, and fire place. My room came with a shared hallway bathroom and another bathroom with shower. There is an elevator in the building. I probably would not have originally chosen this property, but after staying here I was very pleased with all aspects of my stay and would certainly select Hotel St. Georges again and highly recommend. …
Stayed here for five nights in January. A very spacious triple room. Very helpful and friendly staff on reception and in the breakfast room. The breakfast was more than expected and very fresh produce. I was offered an adaptor and hair dryer on checking in and throughout our stay everything was just perfect. Our room had a view over the square. Little chocolate biscuits left each morning. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay again. The location is so convenient near the train station and the town centre.
I really liked this hotel. Our room was really clean and had a lot of character, there were black-out windows, and the building is really charming. There are trams everywhere but everything is within walking distance. We had a shared bathroom (3rd floor - two toilets and one shower) and a sink in our room. I never had to wait for the bathroom/shower. You can borrow a hair dryer or adaptor at reception.
Really enjoyed my stay in Hotel St George’s. Located in the Werd neighbourhood you’re well connected to the whole of Zurich by tram. Had a single room with shared facilities but was given a double - nice touch. Rooms were spacious with towels provided. Bathrooms and toilets were spotless and check in was friendly and efficient. Minor quibble. My TV in Room 18 didn’t work and the curtains were poor at keeping the light out. Otherwise very pleasurable.
I really liked to stay in this hotel! I stayed for work travel reason and for a weekend with my boyfriend. I have to say, it was very good for both the occasions. Price is nice for Switzerland and has all you need. Location perfect! it is in a nice quiet neighborhood, 10 min walking from the center and 10 min walking from the central station. 3 min walking to the north you have also the neighborhood full of restaurants and bars. I took the room with private shower, it will cost a bit more per day but it is worth it. The room was nice and not too small, the room and bathroom well cleaned everyday. I read some recension that say the bed is not confortable, I found mine confortable, maybe I was lucky, but I think it depends on which type of materas you are used at. For the adapter and the hairdryer, they are available at the reception and you can keep it at the room till you need it The breakfast is not big but it has everything you need: eggs, bread, orange juice, croassant, honey and jams, ham and cheese, 3 types of yogurt and 4 types of cereals. After there is the bar included where you can order coffee or cappuccino or other things that you like I did a very big breakfast with all the alternatives that were there and all was good. One more thing that I found nice was that they give you the opportunity to not change the towel every day if you care about environment, asking you to put the towel you want to change on the floor. But some time I had the towel not on the floor but dirty with makeups on, and they did changed it even if I didn't indicate it, and I found it very caring. Thank you again.…
