not enough space to hang wet coats- not ideal for the season. the bathtowels are rather frugal...( as bad as before the renovation) thats all i wish to say, so please don't insist- also its not meant for strangers, but for the hotel staff.!
First of all - this place is more of an upscale hostel, not a hotel. Complete with a shared guest refrigerator a big bottle of shampoo and one bath towel a day. You have to request housekeeping. The evening desk attendant seemed to only understand German and several times things I inquired about just got me blank stares. The hotel requires you use your room key to access the premises after 7:30 pm. No problem it is on a quiet residential street and unstaffed in the evening. Well the issue is I returned at 8 pm and the front door mechanism was BROKEN and I was trapped outside for 15 minutes as no one answered the emergency phone number. Anyway, the evening attendant comes from around a corner, let’s me in and proceeds in broken English to tell me how I wasn’t using my key properly. I told her multiple times your door is broken - demonstrated it - she still blamed me. This went on until I put her outside and shut the door. Guess what - ITS BROKEN. Uggghhh. I was so aggravated I went to bed and attempted to shower and get cleaned up with the one threadbare towel they issued. Breakfast was mostly okay if you consider having to boil your own eggs or go scramble them yourself in the guest kitchen offering breakfast. Pros - nice neighborhood. Beautiful space and flooring. Bed was comfortable. Restaurant next door is delicious and the owners very kind. Cons - no amenities - food, water, adequate bath towels or close walkable place to grocery or supply shop. Price - if You want to run a hostel then charge hostel prices. At over 200.00 a night I expect a hotel. Evening Staff is poorly trained and cannot adequately respond or assist guests. Tub/shower combo is high and deep and there are no grab bars - good luck not falling (I slipped twice) and not injuring yourself. This place SUCKS - it only got two stars because it is pretty and the bed was comfortable.…
Hotel Alma was a beautiful blend of classic & modern, super clean, and a great place to stay. The hotel has a lovely rooftop with a sunset view, and a fantastic location. I will definitely stay here again!
A very clean hotel with Scandinavian design and elegance. I also tried the sauna/spa area together with a massage and thought it was very nice add-on after an early flight. A great view from the rooftop terrace and close to Lake Zurich for eg. a morning run
A fully refurbished hotel, good size bedroom, well equipped showeroom with excellent water pressure. Generally lovely staff. All very friendly and willing to help. Delicious breakfast too. we would certainly go back again.
Lovely good value hotel, small, with personal and truly friendly service. Quiet. There is even a tiny garden. I may be wrong but I think there is no restaurant other than for breakfast. However there are plenty of restaurants in the vicinity. This is not a luxury hotel but in its category it is great, and I bet you will fondly remember this place and go back.
This was great surprise jewel which I enjoyed for 5 nights. After many trips to Zurich, this time was the 1st time I felt reasonably real, clean accommodation, accessibility, and price. Very welcoming staff.
I have stayed several times at this hotel and it very clean and comfortable. The staff are really friendly and there is a bar with free tea and coffee all day. The hotel has a beautiful roof terrace and spa facilities and the healthy breakfast is delicious. It is only a few minutes walk from the lake and about 7 mins walk from the opera house, boats and Stadelhofen train station with direct trains to the airport. Each room is different and each door painted a different colour. There is a fire in the lounge area and comfortable seating.
I'm a guy and I loved this place. It's centrally located, close to bus stops, but in a quiet street. It's well-managed by friendly people; breakfast is good and the well-stocked honesty bar is open 24 hours day and night.
As a widow traveling alone this was a great find. The staff is very helpful and welcoming. I stayed for 6 nights, met lovely guests in the well-stocked lounge, and found my way around the city easily with the desk help. Rooms spacious and comfortable. Who could ask for more?
