We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Adler. Great centrally located hotel, a walk from many tourist attractions! We arrived early and exhausted from our international flight, but our room was ready so the very kind hotel staff allowed us to check in early. Since we booked directly we were greeted with a gift of chocolate spread which was lovely. Our room was comfortable, nice, and clean - with Toblerone on the pillows! The only downside - if you can call it a downside - is the smell of cheese permeating throughout the hotel. This comes from the fondue restaurant in the hotel, Swiss Chuchi. If you're sensitive to strong smells be aware. It didn't bother us. If you're looking for a great fondue restaurant I do recommend trying Swiss Chuchi!
We have just spent two nights at the Adler after a hiking holiday in the Bernese Oberland. Its position in the heart of the old city and close to the station makes it very convenient. The hotel is beautifully clean and we loved the original artwork in the rooms and on the landings and stairwell. This made the hotel feel very special and more like a boutique hotel. Our luggage should have arrived when we got to the hotel but there had been a mix up and we were left for 24 hours in dirty walking gear complete with mountain boots and sticky socks. We cannot thank the staff enough for their kindness. Sara, in particular, went above and beyond, finding us everything that made the wait tolerable from toothbrushes to clean shirts and trousers. She also made lots of calls tracing our luggage and was very calm and reassuring. She even found us a table in a fully booked restaurant. I think any hotel that has the staff the Adler has is very lucky. I have no hesitation in recommending the Hotel Adler as an extremely nice place to stay. Although the rooms are small ( we had single rooms) they are well appointed and very comfortable. Breakfast was of a high quality and everything was very relaxing and welcoming. Thank you, reception staff, and a special thank you to Sara.…
You can not skip the local Fondue. It is the spirit of the place. Very tasty, deep flavors go very well with meat and vegetable dishes. Very nice beg of potatoes and well served with wine and beer. It is 4/5 as I think the bread should be more crispy.
Our family of 5 stayed in this lovely hotel for a one night stopover , it was just as we expected from other reviewers & their website . Really charming , nicely styled , lovely service at front desk . Really fabulous location in the old town amongst quant wine bars , good shops & lots of restaurants too. Breakfast was good too.
My daughter & I shared one of the Premium Twin rooms - we loved our stay & would stay again! We were walking distance to everything we wanted to do & see, including the modern art gallery, Kunsthaus, (about a 10 minute walk) for which Reception can arrange a substantial discount - remember to ask before setting off. Although we caught a tram to go there, we walked back as we had a perfect mild Autumn day & we enjoyed wandering around some streets & shops. Hotel Adler is an easy 10 minute walk to the train station which was excellent for us as we left by train to return to Milan. The staff were all warm & helpful, even giving me a new toothbrush when I lost mine (on a tour). The restaurant is handy & excellent for tired travellers, like us. We enjoyed dinner there 2 of our 3 nights. We would stay again for sure.…
The rooms are clean, tidy and well appointed. Some people here in the reviews say they are small, but keep in mind you are in the middle of the old town and walking distance to everywhere. Extremely quiet. Comfy beds (on the hard side but it is what we prefer). Check in service was friendly and quick. Great breakfast. Very efficient. Would stay again.
A small hotel right in the middle of Zurich that happens to be big in every way. Hotel Adler is a dream place to stay. It is near to everything and has everything that you need. The facilities are unbelievable, soap, shampoo, hair dryer in the bathroom, a TV which seems to have channels from every country in the world, a sweet to greet you on arrival, free water and Coke from the fridge, a comfy bed and staff with a smile who are willing to help you in every way. The included breakfast is one of the best I have had with ideal choices to suit every taste. I can't recommend this hotel more, give it a go. One of the best hotels I have stayed in.
Lovely hotel, well appointed airy room - staff friendly and helpful. Tram outside door beside the canal, to and from town centre. We had dinner in hotel restaurant - lovely meal but super expensive - but probably reflects Zurich high prices.
My family and I stayed for two nights to visit the Christmas Markets. We had three rooms and everything was really nice.. The service from Front Deck Ramona and Bouke were excellent. They were so kind and friendly. The rooms were well laid out and super clean. The location is absolutely central to everything. I would definitely stay here again the next time I come to Zurich.
This is a gem of a hotel. Myself and my mother stayed as a surprise for her birthday and I can't say enough good things. The food in the restaurant attached to the hotel was really good. The room they gave us was very spacious and quaint. Staff were very accommodating including packing up a breakfast to take with us as we had an early train to Milan. I would highly recommend it.
