We ended up staying here unexpectedly a few weeks ago after an unfortunate circumstance at a different Zurich Sorrell. Happily, we were in good hands and the room was extremely large and included a balcony. Seefeld is not in the center - and yet it is blocks away. Trams 2 and 4 or a five minute walk bring you to Stadelhofen. The staff was lovely and let us leave our luggage anticipating we could probably check in a tad early as they cleaned the room. Coffee is in the room and the breakfast provided had many offerings. The waitstaff were sweet and happy. We had room 507 which I recommend for being on the top floor. It has air conditioning which is nice in Zurich when it’s hot. The bed was comfortable and the pillows are fabulous. I would have liked hair conditioner. It’s a good value and a great location. If you read my other Sorrell hotel review you will see how I ended up in Seefeld. Disregard the reply from the manager. It’s in bad faith and he did not find us a room. We had the first night booked weeks before. What happened is we made a second booking (all through a travel agent) and it was a mix up on room size). Interesting the response blames the guest (again!) but happily this Sorrell does not seem to be connected except in name so perhaps it’s a franchise. In fact, the manager we encountered at Sorrell St Peter counseled us not to stay in seefeld at the Sorrell. We were glad we paid no attention.…

Just back from a lovely trip to Zurich( been s few years since my last visit). There were 5 of us , all adults, our stay was lovely. 1.Food and drink: We had a few drinks at different times and although very quiet it had a nice relaxed feel about it.Service was good.Breakfast was good , fine array of cold meats and cheese, freshly baked breads and croissants, eggs scrambled and boiled although not of major concern the addition of crispy bacon would have been nice. Accommodation: all rooms were good, no real complaints if any a little small but well serviced on a daily basis. Welcome and friendliness: I have have worked all my life in hotels and have always paid a lot of attention to to customer service and found all staff friendly but special mention to Markus, an affable and friendly man, we enjoyed our conversations! And also to Carla , very efficient and friendly, she remembered our requirements.The motto in my last workplace was excellent friendly service by by exceptional people! We stayed here a night snd we were impressed. It was clean and modern and in every way nice. Also the service was outstanding. We have started a train trip that included a round trip of Switzerland and almost a dozen hotels. Apparently someone canceled our reservation at this particular hotel despite the fact that we prepaid in months ahead of time. When I have shown them my reservation and the existing voucher I had they worked on correcting the mistake for an hour and a half. They said they will honor the reservation and don’t want me to pay twice. They called the Swiss travel company in Zurich snd under the time we had lunch in their cafe everything was straightened out. I was very impressed. Room was excellent, bathroom and linens are spotless, it had s very modern and clean feel to it. We loved it. We will stay here next time in Zurich. Location is great too, close to the water and the Opera house with lots of little eateries around and trams very close. Excellent stay! I can’t say the same about the cafe which is inside though. The food was bad except the prosciutto which you cannot ruin. But the goulash was bad. We are originally from Hungary so we do know a good goulash since our country is the home and original country of this dish. It was anything but.. snd the bread they served was so dried up snd hard crusted we could have killed somebody with it hitting on the head.. the service was even worse. The older guy was walking around and pretending to be busy had three tables to take care of when we sat down. He did not even ask what we want for fifteen mins. Since we waited for the front desk straightening our reservation mess we stayed but otherwise I would have left. The he ignored us more and when ready to pay another server vane who actually was much nicer and more attractive, but altogether it was a bad lunch with horrible service. It is not the fault of the hotel though but still makes them look less excellent. Anyway my recommendation is to stay here but find another eatery close by. Mitzi…

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights with my family. We took 3 rooms, all of the same category. At the end of 2 days we realised that our room was smaller than the other two rooms, did not have a sofa or a balcony. When we had paid for the same category, we should have got the same rooms. The housekeeping team was very inefficient. They did not clean the toilet in the parents room and did not replace the towels as well. Even after bringing it to their notice, they just gave the towels and went away. They also didn't replenish the tea bags, we had to ask every time. They gave 2 bottles of water on the first day and did not replenish. When we were paying the same tariff on all 4 days, then why wasn't the water replenished? The breakfast spread was minimal. They didn't have the option of omelette or pancakes which has been a standard at other places we have stayed. The staff however at breakfast time was very helpful. The hotel was close to the metro stops which was the only saving grace. …

First of all we would like to thank you for your nice words regarding our staff. We strive and do everything to make our guests stay as perfect as possible. You have booked the same room cathegorie (Grand Doubleroom) for three rooms, which you have also received. However two rooms had a Couch in them, please note that they are not bigger they just have a different layout. All in all our rooms are the same size just with different extras and depends on the preferencce of the guest. I deeply regret that we have not been able to meet your expectations and would like to send my sincerest apologies for fallings short in delivering our well-known Sorell service standard. I can assure you that your comments regarding the housekeeping does not reflect our usual standard and professional working routine. However it is an international standard that the towels are only replenished when they are thrown on the ground. Also the tapwater in Zurich is drinkable, the first bottle of water is complimantary after that you can find more in the mini bar. I much regret that your were not satisfied with our Sorell Breakfast. Usually our Sorell Breakfast is very popular, as we offer a wide variety of high quality products. On our buffet you will find salmon, Parma ham, bresaola, beef salami, several kinds of cheese, etc. We have forwarded your comments to the relevant departments. The hotel was very clean and the room was a very comfortable size. The breakfast offered a variety of items and the staff was helpful in filling requests for coffee and tea. The bed was very comfortable and when we asked for non-feather pillows, the staff was very accomodating.

This hotel has outstanding staff and really comfortable rooms. I booked this for part of a business trip in March 2022. In part, I made my reservation based on the photos of their gym, which unfortunately no longer exists. However, on learning of this, one of their staff members went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of. This was on top of an already great experience with their reception staff on check-in. My room (on the 3rd floor) was really comfortable. No issues with tram noise from the street below. either. Only negative, was that the breakfast was a bit lacking; particularly for a 4-star hotel. I'll gladly be back.

We could not have been happier with this hotel. It made for a lovely holiday. All of the staff were friendly. The service was first-class. The room was clean and spacious. We asked for and received a quiet room. The restaurant food was delicious. Breakfast was filling and tasty. The location was excellent. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Close to a supermarket and a five-minute walk from a Covid testing centre.

Staff are okay but not outgoing to assist. We figured out almost everything on our own other than getting taxi to main train station for our departure. Rooms are small and bathroom....well....one must be an Olympian pole vaulter to enter/exit the tub. Water pressure is fantastic. Shaving is a challenge as mirror is set way back and magnifying mirror doesn't pull out. Mirror behind the toilet is closer but lighting is worse here. Plenty of toiletries if one is missing anything. Unlike most hotels, this one does provide a price list for all items; snacks and in refrigerator. Conserve energy; lights in hall are off but have motion sensors. Black out blinds and awning for balcony come in handy with setting sun. Again, no A/C but does have a water cooler which is just a fan. We slept with balcony door open. Tram goes by constantly.…

This is a great little hotel, staff very friendly and accommodating. It is very clean and for Zurich, good value for money. The location is good, however, the food availability is not great, the evening meal is very limited, but there are several restaurants close by, mainly Italian and Asiatic.
