For a full day at Lake Eland continue the scenic drive on the reserve to Lake and back along the western side of the Reserve, which is just over 30km.Called the Pipe Dream, the unusual accommodation is a double bed built into an old concrete water pipe with a small patio, braai area and communal toilets and showers nearby. we...

Spent a relaxing weekend with family in a 6 sleeper deluxe cottage overlooking the dam. Neat and clean accommodation. Fished in the damage with no luck. Saw a number of animals including an "Udumbu" Downside. 1. Gates close too early. 2. No cover over braai area if it rains. Bring your own braai stand as a back up. 3. No...

We visited this reserve on our 1st wedding anniversary for the first time and decided to stay there one night during our annual trip to South Africa. Great accommodation right on a lake. Loved the warthogs running around. Great BBQ space, only negative was the frog that kept us up all night but you are in the wild. The game...

We spent 10 nights at Lake Eland over the Dec/ Jan school holidays. Had a fantastic time, beautiful, peaceful and very relaxing. Cabins are rustic but clean and well stocked. Loved the fact that the cabins were serviced daily - including weekends and public holidays. Boys loved fishing in the dam and swimming in it. A big plus that you...

We (my wife & I) spent a quiet weekend at Lake Eland in their very quaint and well equipped and serviced chalets. We overlooked the dam and spent the weekend chilling, game viewing and bird watching. And of course we braai'd every night. A great place to unwind.

We spent 2 nights in Lake Eland and had the most wonderful time! Beautiful hikes and gamedrives, very exciting ziplines and we even did the extreme Zipline! We also saw the caves and the suspension bridge, such a pity we did not bring the mountainbikes along. I had the most amazing hikes with zebra, blouwildebeest and blesbok around me...wish we...

I had the pleasure of visiting Lake Eland and the Suspension Bridge with my closest friends. I drive a tiny city car (Citroën C1 Airscape) and even fully loaded (4 ladies and I), the track was perfectly drivable. The facilities are ample and the wildlife appear semi-tame and some pose or approach the vehicle for photographs. We had a braai...

Im not an adrenaline junkie but i tried the Lake Elands ziplining! There's an extreme one & a normal one where you zipline throughout the gorge. I did d normal one. I however was terrified of d long gorge one which goes at 160km/h for 20sec depending on ur speed release of course. You go over d gorge, d damn...

With two other families checked in to units 4&5 on the dams edge. Everything was on point and very clean. The setting is spectacular and you can fill your weekend with. Fishing, Mountain biking, Scenic walks, Running trails, Game Drives, Zip lining, swimming, braaing or just snoozing. Kids can wander free and as long as they can swim. The units...

Really loved our time here. Very nice cottage on a dam, squeaky clean and very good value for money. Definitely the place to go if you enjoy mountain biking, running, hiking or fishing. Lots of activities and the views of the gorge (especially along the EPIC bike trails) will melt your face.
