A nice hotel, a little shocked to find out it is also a rehabilitation centre, for mostly old people. I should have done a more thorough research of the property. It was like being an in patient of the 'hotel', smelt a little like and old peoples home or hospital. Room was spacious, for access for disabled persons or wheel chair users. Bed was like a hospital bed, with side-bars and an electric mattress. Clean, quiet and staff friendly. Did not eat there as it felt like being in a hospital, recovery ward. Strange having no access after 8pm, you have to call to gain access. Close to the town centre, which was a bonus.

Dear guest, thank you for your feedback and rating. Hotel Merlinde tries to provide the highest level of hospitality to its guests; tourists and guests who require care. The hotel is indeed divided into two separate wings; leisure rooms located in the historical part of the building and located in another wing of the hotel are the rooms where guests with health care or revalidation needs reside. We try to be as transparant as possible about our unique hotel concept, both on our website as booking sites. We're sorry to hear you didn't fully enjoy your stay with us and we apologise for the inconvenience. Best regards, Team Hotel Merlinde

Very nice facility. Not far from where my kids live. Yes, this is a recuperative facility for the aged. But does not look like anything but a hotel. Room was large, bed was comfortable, very quiet, nice dining area. Breakfast was good. Easy in and out when driving. Library room and billiard room. Had no bad experiences. Coffee and tea in the room.

We stayed from 19-20 September 2018. Room and bathroom were clean. Beds were good. Bathroom huge with sliding doors. Shower space is like a wet room - completely open resulting in the toilet getting a soaking when you shower. The safe in the room is useless because it is not secured to the shelves/furniture. It is standing completely lose on the shelf and anybody can just lift it out and walk away with it. Breakfast good. Parking free outside but on the premises. The hotel is about 10 minutes walking from the city center. Front door locked early and you need to call somebody to let you in again. Kitchen closes already at 8pm. There were many old ladies with rollators and I understand hat the hotel is also used as a care home or rehabilitation center.

We agree with you that the open bathroom is not ideal, however we try to accommodate all guests, both tourists as guests with a health care need, therefore all rooms and bathrooms are wheelchair accessible. However, the bathrooms are getting an upgrade as soon as possible. We hope to welcome you again at our hotel! Best regards, Team Hotel Merlinde

This hotel is most odd in that it seems to serve as a convalescence hotel for people recuperating from operations etc. So everything is adapted for wheelchair access, including the bathroom in our room. Nothing wrong with that, we were just a little surprised... A good plus for anyone seeking a quiet hotel is that given the age and / or convalescent state of many of the residents, one can probably expect to have few families with noisy children. Hotel a short work to the main square / tourist sites. Free hotel parking. Hotel staff seemed to have a fairly limited command of English, but we got by, no worries. Would recommend this hotel

We don’t recommend u to stay in this hotel. Staff is really rude, calling in the early morning and waking u up before the checkout time. Room was cleaned only once in 4 days we stayed there. There is no air conditioning in the room, so when it’s hot outside you can’t sleep well. To enter the hotel after 9 pm you have to call and wait for a long time outside.

Dear Victoria, thank you for your feedback. We are discussing your feedback in our upcoming hotel meeting and guarantee these issues will get fixed. We do not have air conditioning in all rooms, but there is always a fan present... however I can imagine that an air conditioning was desirable during spring's high temperatures. We are very sorry to hear we didn't meet your standards, but we will try our best to improve our hotel experience based on your feedback. Best regards, Team Hotel Merlinde

We were back after some time. Had the idea that the hotel became more expensive, 120 without breakfast (extra 15 pp). Staff and atmosphere like always nice. Proper room with very good bed. Excellent parking place. 10 min walk from center. It’s a care hotel, also used by people to recover. It adds to the atmosphere. Like to stay here.

Perfect. The clinic I had a minor surgery recommends this hotel to stay afterwards. The place is fully equipped for guests with disabilities or recovering. They have beds controlled by pressing a button - sit up, knees up, whole bed up.The bathrooms are big enough to waltz in, apparently for wheelchairs. Also no thresholds. Big lifts. The restaurant was very good. Tip: try salmon salad, its the best ever. The staff did go "the extra mile" to make me comfortable and not just once, many times. Much appreciated, thank you very much! Combine with beautiful rich interior design. I really felt like a princess.

It's a hotel cum old age rehabilitation center. The overall environment is serene and peaceful. People are always smiling and courteous. The rooms and bathroom are of decent size and perfect for a business stay. As this place is very close to the industrial zone, it was a great find for me. I will stay here again.
