The plusses: ---------------- - Fabulous location! Literally 1.5 short blocks from either the 16 or 24 tram; small but cute market literally across the street, right next to a fabulous vegetarian restaurant; lots of shops and restaurants around. - 3 of the 4 of us found the beds to be quite comfortable, and slept well (or rather would have slept...

When we got to Amsterdam, BiBi was not ready for us, as she had her dates confused. That was OK as she dropped what she was doing and immediately cleaned the place for us. We went out exploring and she was done when we returned. As advertised, there was food in the kitchen for us to make our breakfast the...

There were four of us staying here, so we took the whole apartment. I would definitely recommend only staying here if you can take the whole place, or if you don't mind very close quarters with strangers. The living/dining area, kitchen, shower and toilet are all shared. The shower is in a separate room from the toilet and the floor...

Musty smell in the stairway. Tiny toilet. Bathroom is a wet room, after showering it cannot be used without shoes until it dries. All made worse when sharing these facilities, which we were not expecting. It just feels dingy. On the upside; Bibi is very helpful, the bedrooms are spacious and the city center is within walking distance (20min). To...

We stayed at Bibies for two nights and really enjoyed it. The location in de Pijp is amazing. Loads of really good restaurants, little shops and cafes in the area. You can walk everywhere or take the tram just around the corner. The rooms are spacious and beautiful. We were in the room overlooking the garden and it was really...

I spent 2 nights at bibies B&B with my friends. We were five people, so we took the whole apartment (it has one double room and one triple with one bathroom). Everything was perfect. First of all Bibi, the owner, she's really kind and gave us a lot of maps and discount cards. In the apartment you find a kitchen...

The 2 bedrooms in the apartment are spacious and bright. The location is fantastic in de Pijp district - close to shops, cafes and the tramline. The beds were very comfortable. The downside is that the common areas (kitchen, sitting room and wc/shower room) were not particularly clean. Breakfast is "topped up", but it was difficult to determine how long...

We stayed for only three days and we loved being there. Close to the central of the city, comfortable, felt like home. The owner was nice too. She gave some information that we needed it. There are 2 rooms. Since we were 4 with the kids, we got the room near the street. At night during weekend, it was a...

I have spent many hours checking reviews in Tripadvisor to book a hotel for our arrival in Amsterdam from Kuwait, and thank goodness! Hopefully we have avoided the bedbugs, mice, indifferent staff etc! Then the cursor fell on Bibies BB on the map! A B&B wasn't what we had in mind for a stop-offt, but neither was what I could...

Bibies is located in a very good position, walking distance from the musem district and you could reach easily everything within a 15 to 30 minutes walk! The BB is cozy and well arranged, beds are very comfortable...though only one thing surprised me, as we were only 3 girls we've been accommodated all in one room, and if you consider...

Staying in De Pijp

Neighbourhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
