Well located hotel and just 5 mins walk to the metro. We also walked into the city centre along the river which only took 20 mins too. Hotel was clean and perfectly adequate for our needs and represented good value for money. Staff were attentive to our needs and happy to help. Lots of leaflets and special discount vouchers in...

Spent 4 nights here. We booked through booking.com a twin room which was supposed to be at -1 floor. They gave us a room at the 3rd floor (way much better!). Our room was in a separate buildind, with both very deep stairs and elevator. 24h reception. Metro/tram stop at 100m. The room was tiny but cozy, the bathroom small...

Stayed here for three nights after staying at Hotel Espresso. The rooms here are fairly clean and size is ok. This hotel isn't as close to the hustle and bustle as previously mentioned hotel. When checking in you will notice that this is a very quiet area with barely any eateries or bars in the vicinity however when you want...

Perfect location to stay if you are okay with trams, underground's...etc. There are not many restaurants around there is a local pub around the corner to the left of the hotel which was perfect for food or a drink, with great staff. To the right of the hotel is the underground with also a local convenience store. The hotel itself...

Hi Samba2093, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. The rooms we have are small but cozy, like Amsterdam standards ;) We are located in a nice residential part of Amsterdam. At night nice and quiet for a good nights rest. One of the main areas (utrechtsestraat and rembrandtplein) is just on 15 minutes walking distance which is really...

We were with a group of 22 people who were in the Tulip Apartments next door so the hotel was the overflow for 12 nights. Great location to Metro and trams. Walking distance to centre, markets and most sights. Great cafe Bakhuys nearby. Friendly accommodating staff. Even left us a Christmas present and a New Year bottle of champagne and...

This was a welcoming place to have as a base. Staff were absolutely excellent, so friendly and helpful. Excellent location, away from the crowds but easy to access all - metro, tram or a pleasant walk to anywhere in the centre of city. Bike hire a great feature too. Great coffee shop in nearby Bakery - in front of tram...

I liked the hotell. The cleaning staff didn't wake us up early as in many of the other hotels we have visited. Clean warm room, comfy beds, friendly staff. Cons: you could clearly hear the neighbours through the walls and specially at night when they got home from partying. This is a pretty small hotel so not many people are...

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighbourhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
