Located around a 5 min walk from the Central Train Station, this hotel is in a great location. Close but not too close to the nightlife and within easy walking distance to the main attractions. Large room and bathroom. Excellent service.

What a great little gem of a B&B just on the outskirts of the red light district. Stayed in room 34 which was a great size, had under for heating in bathroom which was fantastic especially in the morning, a little cage with a ladder up to it, above the rooms door and a very comfortable bed. Very warm welcome here, clean, friendly and modern. Comfortable bed, greatly appreciated gratis items in fridge, shower and jacuzzi bath amazing, best shower I've had at a hotel. Heated bathroom floor on a winter morning is a godsend. This will be our first port of call when staying in Amsterdam from now on.

We had Room No 32 overlooking the canal. Very quiet and very clean. Great comfy bed and duvets. Good clothes storage. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Love the free minibar (obviously) - only stocked once for your visit. Love the honesty bar idea as well, great prices on drinks and snacks from that. I've never seen that... More

This is a great hotel near Centraal station. We liked the location as it was just on the edge of the bustling city centre so we were only a street or so away from the busy crowds. We stayed in Amsterdam for four days and only took the tram once - we were able to walk everywhere. We were well... More

We have just come back from a long weekend stay and really loved this hotel. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Location is very good and a great base to explore from and, as per our room photo, overlooking a pretty and relatively quiet canal. Rooms are decorated with a bit of a flourish and it is so nice... Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
