I had a great stay…front desk, concierge staffs were extremely helpful! The hotel is classic style and room is spacious and well equipped hotel location is excellent. Very nice hotel in the center of the city . Very good restaurants and room service . the staff is very warm. all places of interest are located within walking distance of r the hotel. the spa is a plus. the rooms are very beautiful and very modern. Maybe the best hotel in Amsterdam.

we had a wonderful stay at the grand; it was a very surprising experience... the rooms are luxiourous and comfortable , and the staff is very friendly . you can feel the hospitality ....during our dinner in Bridges we were entertained by a great team of nice people. The wines en the courses were very tasteful. We will defenitely recommend your hotel , and return for a second time in the future!

During these COVID period, many luxury hotels scale down on services but still charge pre-covid prices in order to balance less business volume with bottom line profit. At Sofitel Legend the Grand Amsterdam they do opposite. Still charge the price but also provide full service as you can expect as a customer. I would like to highlight one example only: I bought some Gouda cheese in one of the numerous Cheese shops in Amsterdam and let the bag on my desk in my room. Upon room cleaning I found a note from Eva and Morgane saying that they noticed that I would love local cheese. They said as well that they would like to introduce another local specialty to me (Stroopwafel) and put a couple of them on my desk. It tasted great and ate all of it..... Ladies and Gentlemen, This is a true luxury experience which you get only in absolute top serviced hotels. In my older days (when Sofitel was still seperately managed from Accor) we had these "Magnifique Moments". Employees were motivated to find small attentions for guests which they did not expect. This is exactly what happened to me today and I am absolutely thrilled that this happened to me since a long time again in a Sofitel. As said, today, General Managers turn down the water pressure, let you and your wife use one small shampoo bottle for 2 days (please share.....), do not provide coffee amenities anymore (oh god, its covid and we hope the customer does not realize that we sell him this as a covid measure, but we actually just want to save money), they close bars and give you a voucher instead (but can not be used as the lobby bar closes at 8 pm...) etc etc. In Düsseldorf's best rated hotel, they went that far, to provide you a welcome drink for one person only, even though we checked in as a couple. We had to hear a long lecture what the policy and procedures were, they completely forgot, that we are Platinum members with dozens of room nights per year.... So here we go, saving money the wrong way, saving the the tree but loosing the forest. I am very happy what I have experienced today at the Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam. They act as a true Grand Hotel with generosity and do not act as many of the other competitors or sister hotels who just bend under pressure of the corporate office profit request and and impact customer service AND GUEST SATISFACTION by still charging the same price but provide much less service and amenities. SMART cost saving is ok and welcome but don't impact customer satisfaction and services. Not many hoteliers understand this concept, unfortunately. Well done, Sofitel Amsterdam and thank you very much Ms. Eva and Miss Morgane. You gave an example that the true luxury hotel business has not disappeared. Your well running hotel proves, it is possible and you should remind your peers and colleagues to do the same.

We loved our stay at the Sofitel Legend from the moment we arrived. We were greeted by the Head concierge Niels Essink as soon as our taxi pulled into the quaint courtyard entrance. He and the rest of the staff could not have been friendlier. This was our first time in Amsterdam and we knew immediately that we were going to love it. Niels and his staff made sure we were enjoying ourselves and offered great suggestions on activities and dinner spots. We enjoyed Oriole Bar and the bartender Mr. David. He made fun and interesting drinks and entertaining conversation. The location of the hotel is perfect and in easy walking distance of city center. Our room was very roomy, clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay at this property the next time we return to Amsterdam. If you are looking for a cool traditional bar then check out Cafe 't Spui-tje in the Spuistraat!
