A perfect private hotel to discover the city and the museums. Very nice rooms, very friendly personal. The district around the hotel is full of restaurants, cafes and small and fine shops, the perfect mixture to spend a few relaxing days in Amsterdam.

We had a wonderful stay in the "Mondriaan" room. An excellent service, in compare to other same-stared hotel this one is much more worthy. Staff was extremely kind and very worm. Strictly recommended for couples (watch the stairs, no lift, but we didn't suffer!)

We recently stayed at Museum suites and it was a great trip. We were greeted by Kim who was so welcoming and helpful and even gave us a quick run down on essential info. The hotel is located in a quiet suburb but has a tram which takes you into the centre of Amsterdam in minutes. We got the bus...

Just stayed for the weekend with our teenager. Fantastic old building, large comfy room which had a small kitchenette with an excellent coffee machine. Our host, Kim, was really lovely, cooked a great breakfast and kindly booked a restaurant table for us. It's in a good location too, 5 minute walk from the main museums and 10 minutes to the...

Beautiful, clean, quiet hotel which is a must for us. Warm welcome from Kim who spoke perfect English and was extremely helpful and friendly. Generous continental breakfast set in a beautifully decorated room which set us up for the day. We booked the Mondriaan suite on top floor, 3 flights of steep stairs but not a problem at all. Hotel...

I cannot recommend staying at Museum Suites enough. It is so well worth the higher price, the location is incredible, the area is safe with great dining options close by. The rooms are unique and beautifully kept and our host Kim made the whole experience a truely wonderful one.

We are visiting Amsterdam quite a few times in a year and usually stay at a hotel. We now have found our place to stay! The Museum Suites are fantastic! The suites are in a large " maison de maitre" house and are incredible. The whole atmosphere breaths luxury, calm and sophistication; the staff are very nice and helpful and...

My sister and I travelled to Amsterdam and stayed at Museum Suites in the Vermeer Suite. Staff was lovely and accommodating outside of business hours. It's a great boutique hotel, very clean and cosy. The location is amazing and right next to the Museum district which we thought was the most beautiful place to stay anyway! 10min walk from the...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
