4 days is too short to see all. We wanted visit many museums, but the weather had upset our plans - it was too good LOL. We had 4 days only sunshine. The last day, after the check-out, we made a trip to Haarlem - a nice old town and a special tip. When we left Harleem and drove back...

Lovely hotel with beautiful suites just south of Museumplein. Very friendly and helpful staff, and a lovely breakfast We found it quite expensive, but worth it for a short break as a treat. We've visited twice, and plan to again

My husband and I stayed at the Museum Suites during a trip to the Netherlands visiting relatives. It was a last-minute booking via the hotel's website (recommended) and we stayed in the Mondrian Room. The location was excellent, especially as we were there to see the museums and we were able to park our car in the street outside the...

Fantastic! My husband and I stayed in the Vermeer Suite with our two small children and it was wonderful. The owner and all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They answered all our questions, had tons of advice, and booked tours for us. Also, the breakfast was excellent! Great location near the museums, Vondelpark, and several tram stops.

Museum Suites is an amazing boutique hotel in the Museum neighborhood of Amsterdam. Down the street from Tram 2 and any transportation that stops by the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh and Stedelijk Museums which are walking distance. Stayed in the Mondrian room on the top floor. Host was helpful and friendly. Had breakfast one morning, but was offered daily. Great bathroom,...

Highly recommend this hotel for those who, like me were sceptical of Amsterdam's more notorious reputation. This hotel was my first experience In opening my eyes to a beautiful city with great historic value. It is situated in the museum quarter, out of the way of the more popular tourist areas (inner city) but with good transport links and restaurants...

Lovely B&B in the beautiful Museum District of Amsterdam. This graceful home provided a beautiful, peaceful setting with a very large, elegantly appointed room. The service was exceptional as was the accommodation. Tram stop just a few blocks walk away allowed easy access to downtown Amsterdam, including Central Station. A lovely short walk to the Museums and the surrounding parks...

Museum Suites is like having your own apartment in a great neighborhood in Amstedam. It is out of the fray of the inner city, has many excellent restaurant options within short walking distance, is on the tram line #2, which will get you anywhere you want to go. It is close to the Van Gogh, Stedelijk and Rijksmuseum as well...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
