Highly recommend this hotel for those who, like me were sceptical of Amsterdam's more notorious reputation. This hotel was my first experience In opening my eyes to a beautiful city with great historic value. It is situated in the museum quarter, out of the way of the more popular tourist areas (inner city) but with good transport links and restaurants...

We stayed for 7 nights in the Van Gogh Suite which had a wonderful balcony overlooking beautiful gardens. The room was quiet, clean, spacious and comfortable. The location near the Museums is perfect. We walked everywhere in the City and found excellent restaurants very close to the Hotel. We would stay here again for sure and highly recommend it to anyone visiting...

Lovely B&B in the beautiful Museum District of Amsterdam. This graceful home provided a beautiful, peaceful setting with a very large, elegantly appointed room. The service was exceptional as was the accommodation. Tram stop just a few blocks walk away allowed easy access to downtown Amsterdam, including Central Station. A lovely short walk to the Museums and the surrounding parks...

Museum Suites is like having your own apartment in a great neighborhood in Amstedam. It is out of the fray of the inner city, has many excellent restaurant options within short walking distance, is on the tram line #2, which will get you anywhere you want to go. It is close to the Van Gogh, Stedelijk and Rijksmuseum as well...

Kim and her colleagues were so patient with my many emails as my travel dates kept shifting. She greeted me warmly and helped carry my bags up the three flights to my room. I was departing a bit early in the morning but she showed up early to show me off and even waited with me on the sidewalk until...

Straight from the start, a warm professional welcome, lots of advice and support. Rooms are superb and a short walk from the art galleries and city centre attractions. We stayed in the Mondreal Suite which on the top floor was light and airy. A local supermarket provides food and beer and up the road is a local tavern which is...

After many trips for both business and pleasure to Amsterdam this is the first time I have ventured out from the Centre - this was a real pleasure. Great room, lovely staff and still a quick journey to the centre. Would stay again anytime!

Book months in advance to get the nights you want. We could have stayed much longer if Romans were available. Heat location on tram 2. We even walked to down town before we realized how easy the tram was. Highly recommend.

We stayed in the Vermeer Suite, and it was wonderful ! From our warm greeting to our bittersweet farewell, the Museum Suites was a warm, comfortable, accommodating, and lovely base for our exploration of Amsterdam. Neither my friend nor I had ever been to Amsterdam before; we both agreed that we will be back ! What a great city to...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
