We spent our wedding anniversary weekend in Amsterdam in the cute little houseboat, Little Amstel. Lovely accommodation with everything you could need. Mirjam was a great host who gave us all the information we needed for a wonderful weekend. The breakfasts were delicious and did us for lunch as well, so great value for money. The location is perfect, 10...

Very cozy & warm. Good location, easy to catch tram or taxi. After a 10 hr tour viewing tulips, windmills, wooden shoes & cheese,we caugh a quick bite & headed to the hoseboat to relax and unwind. The sunrise was beautiful & the ducks on the river came by for breakfast!

We stayed here as my teenage daughter was very keen to experience a stay on a houseboat. I expected it to be cold but it wasn't at all, it was lovely and warm. A cosy room with coffee and tea, free wi fi and television. The bathroom is small but nicely designed with a hairdryer which was great. The beds...

Really enjoyed our stay at the little houseboat, close to town and very cosy which was surprising as we thought it would be cold inside during the winter months but the heating system is brilliant and had to turn down the heat. Would recommend to anyone who is looking to stay somewhere different and wanting to pay less.

Stayed in Feb. '15.. Snow & rain showers, sun..this was excellent to 'come home' to. Snuggly, not huge (just as in photos) but ideal for our stay. The boat is quite simply a pleasure to stay on. Everything (including hairdryer) more or less provided. The breakfast...well , if you can't eat it all (fruit, yoghurts, rolls, croissants, liver sausage, jams, honey,coffee...

We had the standard room, which was comfortable, very clean and had a great view on the Amstel river. Enjoying the breakfast in the room while watching ducks and swans go by was especially memorable. The boat is at the edge of De Pijp, which is a great area of Amsterdam with plenty of cool bars, restaurants and shops. I...

I thoroughly enjoyed staying on the Little Amstel. I had the standard room which had wonderful views down the Amstel and across to the banks on the other side. The room was nicely furnish, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. I personally wasn't bothered by the traffic noise (which I didn't notice). The breakfast arrives each morning, with a smile from...

Clean, modern, equipped with what you might need, good beds. Breakfast delivered to the door every morning, fresh and not the same two mornings in a row! Concerned and friendly to the environment. Helpful useful information about the surroundings restaurants shops. Perfect service.

Very modern, very clean accommodation, with a lovely feel to it. We stayed in the deluxe room. The living/dining/kitchen area is very large with huge glass patio style doors waterside, leading to a narrow ledge around the boat. You can't sit/eat outside on this ledge (your Al fresco dining facility is in between the boat and the river's edge on...

What a treat it was to stay on this lovely, boutique houseboat. We stayed in the wonderfully misnamed 'Basic' room for three nights (the others being 'Standard' and 'Deluxe'). The twin bed was comfortable, with a thick memory foam topper, and looked out through a big bright window onto the Amstel canal where you can watch the world float by...

Staying in De Pijp

Neighbourhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
