Upon arrival from the airport at 12pm I went to the check in desk and asked if there was any possibility to get in the room slightly early and the receptionist thought appropriate to laugh at my request and just said no, so my initial thoughts on the hotel were negative and the hotel didn't manage to win me round...

Great location in a historic district, easy access everywhere, lots of good restaurants and cafes nearby. The room was spacious, (we were upgraded on arrival), spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. The lobby area is really attractive, staff are friendly and helpful. All round a very good experience.

Great location, room and service. So near to the centre of the city and yet so quiet. Walking distance to Amsterdam Central railway station alongside the Singel canal. Would recommend and will be visiting again :o)

Everything was absolutely excellent. Great location, staff was friendly and very helpful. They gave us an upgrade to a room with a Jacuzzi tub. The room was fantastic, classically decorated and the bed was really comfortable, everything was spotlessly clean and well maintained. Would totally recommend.

A family owned classic Amsterdam building of the early 20th century. The décor is typical of the city. Extremely well kept, with rooms of great confort. The whole team from arrival to departure are friendly helpful and polite. The breakfast has all the selections you can expect and the bar tenders are friendly and great baristas

We stayed at Hotel Estherea with 10 of our friends and it was the perfect hotel to base our 60th birthday celebrations. The complimentary bottles of prosecco as we stayed more than 3 nights was much appreciated and the bar and lounge were great places to enjoy a toast. The colourful chandeliers, the beautiful flowers, the amazing wallpaper - the...

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
