Hi, This was our first visit to Amsterdam, the hotel has excellent location (Tram number 9 from Central station to Artis Station). The room was very clean and spacious. We got upgraded to a bigger room on arrival. The staff was very friendly in guiding us. Breakfast spread was nice. Overall we have a good experience.

We stayed here for 3 nights in February and found the hotel to be clean and friendly and in a brilliant location for catching the tram to the city centre which took 5-10 minutes. Bathroom was quite small but was fine for the short time we stayed. We also found it really convenient that we could buy a 72 hour...

Went for a weekend very close into Rembrandt Square nice and clean hotel, the staff were very polite and helpful. Artis zoo is right opposite as is the tram if you don't want to walk into the center of town.

This is the third time I stay here. The first two times I had tiny, but fresh, rooms. This time my room feels like an apartment! So there's obviously a range :) There's no luxury but it has everything you need: A comfortable bed, nice shower, big breakfast buffet, very friendly staff and - for me - proximity to the...

My partner and I stayed at this hotel a while ago. I think if I'm honest it was the smallest hotel I've ever stayed in however every one was nice and the breakfast was great. Think maybe we were just unlucky with the room. The toilet was so tiny no bigger than a wardrobe. The actual loo was in the...

Dear Simon, thank you for taking the time to write your review. We do have small rooms, this is due to the fact that we are located in an old mansion in the city centre where space is limited. I am glad that you enjoyed your stay with us and I do hope that we may welcome you again. Kind...

Stayed here for 3 nights from 11-14th February for my partners birthday. Wasn't sure what to expect after reading reviews but we were so happy!!! The hotel is clean, rooms are spacious, bathroom is compact but didn't really make a difference. Breakfast was lovely, staff were friendly. Very close to the tram stop which takes about 10 mins to town...

Visited here February 2017 during business trip and stayed for 3 nights. Hotel is located walking distance from central station (about 2km). Hotel is located just opposite of Amsterdam Zoo and Aquarium is also within few hundred meters. There are couple good bars and restaurants near the hotel, so you don't get starved. February 2017 there was a construction yard...

It wasn't the best hotel I've stayed at, the room was surprisingly small, and getting a small double meant two singles which resulted in one of us sleeping in the gap through the night. Furthermore the bathroom was so tiny, and every time we used the shower the floor would get soaked as it had a curtain instead of a...

Dear Ms Brown, thank you for writing your review. I am sorry that the descriptions of our rooms were not clear enough and that your expectations did not match with your experiences. The bed preference is always subject to availability. I do hope that you have had an enjoyable trip to Amsterdam depsite the inconvenience. Kind regards, Hans

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighbourhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
