The hotel is well located in the old city. It is close to the Central Station, near tram and bus lines, and not far from the cruise terminal. The rooms are comfortable.
But check-in was a nightmare (at least when I arrived) -- long lines...More
I have never been to Amsterdam so all I knew was what I could read and see in pictures. My husband used to work in the city 20 years ago so he was pretty familiar with it. The Renaissance was a perfect location! Love the...More
Checkin area way too small, we arrived around 2 pm and was greeted by a huge crowd waiting to checkin. Not to mention there was an irate customer giving a hard time to the manager. Was way too loud and crowded to give a very...More
Very nice hotel with very professional and helpful staff. Good size room in what appeared to be an annex of sorts. Well stocked bathroom. Did not use restaurant so can't comment. Good location for walking to attractions and canal boats.
For the purpose of this review, I should disclose I was staying at this property using Marriott Reward points. Marriott has an excellent affinity program.
The hotel is well-situated near many shopping and dining establishments. A few steps up the alley and you are near...More
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring
hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.

On the Marriott website, it states that rollaway beds are not permitted for all rooms except for the Executive Suite and the Presidential Suite for twenty euros per night. The Family Room, the Family Connecting Room, and the Superior Room allow more than two guests. The Superior Room has a sofa bed. The Club Room states a maximum occupancy of two and rollaway beds not permitted. You may want to contact the hotel and see if they are willing to help you out. Rollaway beds may not work for some of the rooms due to a lack of space. I hope this information helps you out. It’s a wonderful hotel!
