Beautiful 5 star hotel about 1.5 miles from central Amsterdam in the De Pijp area. We were upgraded to a spacious corner room which was delightful. Typical Japanese attention to detail with the beds turned down in the evening and even a "good night" mat and slippers laid out next to the bed each night. Had a fantastic shiatsu massage...

This elegant hotel offers the subtle decor one associates with Japanese design, with extremely friendly staff from the top man to the bellboy. With 4 restaurants having more Michelin stars than I've ever seen in one hotel. The bar on the 23rd floor offers amazing views of the surrounding area.

Where do I start as you walk into this hotel the decor is of a sophisticated and high class manner. Once we reached our room once again we was blown away by the high level of attention to detail and the size of the room which was huge for a two bed room. Also WiFi was easy enough to connect...

The hotel is walking distance to the Rijkmuseum, Van Gogh Museum and the Heineken Experience. A lovely park is a short walk away, too. Our corner room with windows on two sides overlooked the canal. We enjoyed our room, the gift shop, and the amazing restaurants. These one might expect in a high end hotel. But when my husband and...

We all enjoyed our stay. All the staff we met were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We had a Junior suite on the 16th floor with a view over the Amstelkanaal. Room was was clean and comfortable including complimentary slippers and bath-robes Buffet style breakfast was included in our package and we thought it was very good, plenty...

This is one of the best hotels from a service standpoint that I've stayed at, and this coming from a very frequent, hotel snob. No surprise, it is a deluxe-class Japanese-run hotel which makes service (and cleanness) a top priority. Upon arriving after a long flight from Washington, DC, despite the early check-in time, I was accommodated with a great...

We stayed there about a week ago. The hotel itself is beautiful & with beautiful surrounds. The room was nice & clean with a good view. The bathroom was especially nice, with separate shower & bath. The staff were lovely & there were even staff to open & close the taxi doors for us. We didn't use the hotel's restaurant,...

I have stayed at the Okura several times the last few years in connection to work. They have excellent facilities and everything works well - the strange thing is that for me this is a hotel that I sort of "do not remember" - the hotel does not have any features that I remember in particular - the only thing...

We recently stayed at Hotel Okura, good rooms, great food, wonderful service. Bit out of town, but travel was easy using the trams, which are very close by. Parts of the decor in the room were a little tired, but that's hotels for you. I would recommend. Great spa and gym. All made for a wonderful weekend.

Really great hotel. We got upgraded on arrival and the room was amazing. The bath and shower were very relaxing. Only issue is about extra costs for gym/leisure centre use but we knew this before we arrived. A further issue for others may be the distance from the centre but this worked well for us as we hired bicycles and...

Staying in De Pijp

Neighbourhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
