We took while to find Okura as we took the train from the airport and then the tram from Amsterdam South ( zuid). You will need a change of tram. Tram 12 stops a few minutes walk from the hotel. The hotel is large and very nice, although you can tell that it has been around a while- compared to...

We stayed in this beautiful Japanese styled hotel and enjoyed every minute. The polite staff will give you a warm welcome and is accurate. Our suite had number #603 which is large but a little outdated hence the 4 stars instead of 5. For our next Amsterdam trip we certainly stay here again! Impressive lights in the lobby...

As international coachdriver you sleep in alot of different hotels. I have seen almost 25 different hotels in Amsterdam alone. So how does the Okura hotel in Amsterdam stand out from all the others. This time we visit for 3 nights with Insight Vacations 11 day tour. #service: the staff is really accurate and professional. Some speak multiple languages (English,...

Very good hotel but far away from the center of Amsterdam, you must have to take a tram or bicycle, because walking is too much. I requested twin beds option and although these are, they are glued to each other, and can not be separated. That is, although two beds, are one. When claiming two really twin beds, they could...

Dear Martin R. Thank you for taking the time to share you experience. Good to hear that you enjoyed the magnificent views from your room. On the other hand it is very unfortunate to learn that your stay did not exceed your expectations. We will certainly follow-up on your comments about the twin beds and the Wi-Fi issue that you...

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend away at the Okura Amsterdam. The staff were all friendly and only too happy to help, room service always arrived very quickly and with a smile. The room was spacious and had everything you needed for a weekend away, generous size rainfall shower was a lovely feature. We had an issue with a screaming baby...

My husband is Dutch and we visit Amsterdam often. I have a few hotels that I frequent but the Hotel Okura has really won me over with my visit a few days ago. The staff do really care about your needs and want to help where they can. The breakfast is great and the Tapanyaki resteraunt is out of this...

Great location if you are visiting the museums (Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh) and want to be away from central. Didn't use the hotel restaurants - I am sure that they are very good - they are however equally expensive. Amsterdam is full of great restaurants. Use Omellegg for breakfast if you want to avoid paying 32.5 euros per person. Great...

Had a long weekend in Amsterdam in the Okura. Hotel is located in the southern part of the city in a quiet location but yet easy to go into the city's central district. Rooms are very well equipped and very clean, staff was courtesy. Got everything we needed for the weekend in the city including bicycles which were very good...

We stayed for 3 nights to celebrate our Silver Wedding Anniversary. Wonderful staff made the visit truly memorable. Lovely hotel, good location out of the centre in a quiet area beside the canal, great facilities - pool etc., beauty salon - and an extremely comfortable bed and room. The Teppanyaki restaurant is wonderful and the staff there (and throughout the...

Dear TripAdvisor Member, Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay. Good to hear that you enjoyed your room and the magnificent views of Amsterdam during your stay. Staying in De Pijp

Neighbourhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
