This is a perfect hotel if you want to be in the centre of Amsterdam, but without all the noise. Good location and very clean and good rooms. We stayed in a business room - could't fault it. Highly recommended it, especially if the purpose of the trip is a 'business stay'. Quite and peaceful hotel.

This hotel is a charming place and conveniently located, closer to all the attractions and restaurants. The rooms are tad bigger than the traditional European-box-size hotel rooms and very well decorated rooms. Plus point, this was the only hotel in our Europe trip that had an iron and ironing-table!!!!!!! The property looks like new and is very well maintained.

What a place to finish a European holiday. The hotel was great and the staff were helpful and extremely polite. Especially the Aussie in the restaurant from Wollongong. Sorry couldn't remember your name

The hotel was clean and the staff were very helpful and courteous. It is situated in a quiet area within walking distance of the redlight district. If you have a car expect to pay through the nose to park. Be aware that there are only 14 car spaces which have to be reserved in advanced. I was not aware that...

I spent three nights at this hotel last week and enjoyed my stay. I agree with all the good points mentionned by other reviewers. But... In the standard room, you take a shower by standing in the bath, which has a shiny enamel surface. The shower is great - strong flow and hot water - but the enamel bath surface...

The hotel was spotlessly clean the staff really helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble, and reception was quick and efficient. All the city sights were within easy walking distance as were the bars, restaurants and shops. We would highly recommend this hotel. The only criticism we have is that the drinks in the hotel bar were very...

We stayed at this hotel for three nights prior to our river cruise. The hotel is very convenient to the tourist and historical attractions within walking distance, just watch out for bicyclists, because they are everywhere. There are dozens of outstanding dining establishments available within walking distance. The room was bi-level with a lower bathroom, and it was very clean...

A very nice hotel in a perfect location. The breakfast was above my expectations from a 4 star hotel. Special "Thank you" to Ilie at Reception, who handled a delicate situation tactfully and professionally, thus avoiding further escalation.

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
