Best location for a short stay in Amesterdan. You can walk all the center of amstedan. Th Red Light Distric is about 200 meters. For Dan Square it takes around 10 mim walking. And for the train station it takes about 20 mim walking.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights, it's my second time staying here. I love this hotel because it's really close to everything going on in Amsterdam, you can walk anywhere but when the time comes to back to your hotel room it's luxurious, peaceful & quiet and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast is...

We stayed here for 3 nights last weekend. The hotel is in a nice location quite close to dam square and a canal! The communal area is nice with a restaurant and nice bar which we used a couple of times. We were staying in the main hotel building but there is also a building across the road. The rooms...

Not the hotels fault but just information only. The room was good, clean tidy and reasonably modern. The bed very comfortable. Pillows ok too. Breakfast was very good and loads to choose from I'd stay there again if I got a taxi to the door. There was loads if conveniences not to far away and was a ten minute walk...

The location of the hotel is great for a short city break. Close to the city center and all its attractions. The actual street where the hotel is located on is relatively quiet for being so central. The staff is great and we received top service. An extra plus for the extra service minded concierge Joseph that help us with...

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
