WARNING: I stayed at this hotel with my sisters celebrating my Hen Doo in July 2015 - we booked this hotel after reading the reviews and location appeared to be great. This experience has turned out to be the WORST and I can honestly say I will never return back to Amsterdam. The Hotel have let me and my sisters...

The hotel is ideally located. The rooms look modern. More effort in bathroom cleaning is needed. The hotel provides only one size of large towels, no tissues in the bathroom and no laundry bag. Internet connection is quite bad, the signal was weak on the third floor and kept cutting. Pricy for the basic services.

The hotel is conveniently located close to Madame Tussauds and the Grand Palace. Also a short walk to other tourist destinations and shopping areas. The Reception was very friendly and approachable and we were able to check in earlier than the usual check in time which was greatly appreciated after a long overnight flight. There was no view from the...

We stayed here for a long weekend, it's in a brilliant location for exploring the city. We booked a small room as it was the cheapest option and it had the basics needed and the bathroom was clean and with good facilities. I was disappointed to find that there was an additional 5% charge for a tourist tax that we...

Visited here with my Fiancée in Aug and absolutely loved it (Amsterdam & hotel). It's smack bang in the centre of Amsterdam which is nice, there's so many roads around so better get your walking boots on. The public service is extremely good, there's a tram stop right outside and Metro up at the central station Room was lovely, nice...

I stayed in this hotel in May 2016 as part of a group stag do booking. I was pleasantly surprised on my arrive how nice the rooms were, as stag do group bookings usually mean cheapest and least appealing rooms available. The rooms are on the small side but are modern and location is excellent for getting to everywhere you...

After finding that the hotel we had booked from hotels.com was NOTHING like the advetised hotel, we had a mad dash to find another hotel at night. This was one of our last options. Nothing flash, rather bored reception staff. We needed a room for 3. I drew the short straw and had to stay on the sofa bed! Very...

Had a lovely 3 night stay here. The location is great. In the heart of Amsterdam within walking distance to attractions. Trams outside the door. Ten minute walk from Central station. Couldn't ask for more. Rooms are small but then you are in a main city why would you stay in the room. Beds are very comfortable and the shower...

This hotel is ideally located close to the centre of Amsterdam. I booked a single room and was surprised to find a small double bed which was great, until I realised the bed sheets were stained and bobbled due to how old they must be. My bed was fairly comfortable. Although the room was small that didn't bother me. The...

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
