Right in the middle of town. Beautiful hotel with beautiful view. Be sure to ask for lake view room. It is little pricey, but it is worth it. Book from Expedia to save since walk up prices are too high. Decent breakfast included with the rooms. Staff is extremely friendly.

Our stay at this hotel started at the end of a cruise so we arrived at 9am. Check in time was 3pm but the guests in the room that we had been assigned had a "guaranteed late check out" also at 3pm. The room was not ready until 4:45pm. We found the room had not been cleaned as well as...

We stayed in an extremely large room with a King bed. We had a street view which was quiet. If you wish to be on the canal book an upgrade as they aren't always available. The room was huge - clean with new modern bath. The concierge was great, the staff very helpful, the breakfast is wonderful, and the location...

This hotel is conveniently situated on the side of the canal within easy walking distance of most of Amsterdam's top sites. Very comfortable rooms and excellent service. Wifi is free which is important. Room service prices are reasonable. There is a Nespresso machine in the rooms which we really appreciated.

The lux 1 bedroom river view suite was even nicer than expected. We were always looking out at the canal view from our balcony. We read reviews which warned of noise below, which we did hear, but it was no more annoying than other city hotels and did not last into the late night. Convenient walking to everything. Great staff...

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
