The location is very good being close to Central station and Dam Square, and the hotel is very nice, very clean and reception very helpful. We had a room with a wonderful view over Singel Canal, not too big for a triple but rooms are always small. Bathroom tiny with open shower so you need flip flop. Breakfast was gorgeous with...

A pretty nice hotel right in the centre of the city, 5 min of walking distance from all the main attractions. A nice situation right on one of the canals of Amsterdam. Simple, but nice rooms with everything needed, pretty clean with the windows facing the canal. Not very noisy. Average breakfasts, but always with fresh coffee. Guys (staff) from...

I was a little worried because of some of the comments from reviewers but took a chance anyway because rooms were going fast the week we went. My main priority was to have somewhere close to Centraal station because our flight came in at 20.40 and I didn't want any complex transfers. Singel hotel is literally up the road and...

It was my first trip to Netherlands, so maybe some things are normal there, but my first impression wasn't too good. My single room was very small, cosy, the room was cleaned every day, but in the bathroom... it was too damp there 'cause of poor work of air-ventilation system I think and it wasn't cleaned at all for all...

Our second stay at the hotel, had a fantastic room, the staff were wonderful, again, very helpful and polite and had no problems taking care of our bags before we could check in and after we checked out, so we didn't have to carry our bag round. The cleaning staff make the rooms up perfectly, the location is perfect, close...

We really liked the Singel Hotel, all the staff were hospitable & friendly. The hotel was very modern even though it's @an old building, The breakfast room was a really pleasant place to have the lovely brekkie that is provided. My friend took full advantage & had as much as he wanted. So, I cannot really understand the previous views...

Staying in Centrum

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
