Where do I start. I stayed in the building's unfinished outhouse. 2 bed room with shared bathroom, which turned out not to be shared, due to no one else given rooms on our floor, this probably was because the decorators where there 8.30 to 5 every painting the doors, which lay in hallway most of the day times. Our room...

Got twin room to share with my Girlfriend, fair enough, thats what we ordered and I guess there were no doublerooms left. This hotel has two buildings, the separate one is in small and during night pretty scary street, but fair enough. Room was tiny, but nothing I could not live with. Worse thing was ongoing construction site in the...

I stayed two days on this hotel, and if it weren't because I love Amsterdam, this would have been a horrible experience. We rented the private room with bathroom, The bathroom was really dirty, hairs, dirt, and the mirror dirty, and the walls of the bathroom it was like someone spread butter all over it, it was greasy and yellowish....

I loved this place. I had a single room with a very comfortable bed and funky city-scape wallpaper. The hotel staff were really kind, and the breakfast was delicious. The morning music in the breakfast nook was, um, thrilling for such an early hour, but the front desk guy had been up most of the night, so it made sense...

It's a small hotel but it has a lift, which helped with my many bags, and a reasonable breakfast. The receptionist was really helpfull and gave me a lot of information about the region and about the attractions that I wanted to vist. The room is really, really small and the bathroom is out of the room. The hotel is...

At first arriving, the hostel seemed pretty good. The location is central and close to the Grand Centraal Station, although the downside was that it was close to a lot of coffeeshops. The main building, where the front desk is, was in a modern building with A/C (which was nice on a hot summer day). However, when they gave us...

Rather expensive for what I thought was a youth hostel but is more like a hotel. Awesome amenities and breakfast as well as free wifi. Near the red light district and Ann frank house which is a good location

Me and my husband just came back from a trip to Amsterdam and we stayed in the hotel for 3 nights. We had a double room, which in fact is a single with a large bed, but very uncomfortable. We barely could change clothes, the room is very very small. The bathroom instead was very clean and breakfast was great...

Awesome Place. Rooms are clean, but a little small. Washrooms are also very small, especially the showers, but very clean. Breakfast is also good. Location is awesome. People at the reception are very helpful and always willing to help. I walked throughout Amsterdam without any trams or cycle because of the location of this hostel, although i did land up...

65€/night for a monks cell with bath and toilet on another floor?? I think this place is actually in multiple buildings. Based on other reviews they have some better rooms. Great and cheap indo take away counter just 30m further down the street, away from main station!

Staying in Centrum

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
