This is a great hotel. Staff are fantastic and there is a great buzz around from excited tourists being in Amsterdam. Room was clean and breakfast filled us up for the day! Great location and you are able to get out into the city to explore easily. The staff were always ready to help us with anything we need to...

We went for a short - birthday treat - break. The standard double room was clean, cosy but not very spacious. Towels changed and room cleaned daily. Nice, generous continental breakfast included. Reception was open 24h and there is a bar in the hotel. Staff very friendly. Good location- 20 mins to town centre - we did not use public...

We were quite satisfied with the hotel, the bed was cosy and alright, the location of the hotel is really good - central but not in the middle of the crowds - the staff was friendly, room service fine too so it was the right place to stay for a weekend trip. The room is quite narrow, but nicely decorated...

I was booked by my host at the University, so had no big expectations. It is a two stars hotel, typical extremely small everything…You get what you paid. Rooms clean, simple breakfast and personnel very helpful. Walking distance to all museums and attractions on that side of the city.

Stayed in this hotel with my husband for 5 nights. The locations for us was perfect. Is in the museums district, far way from the dirty red light district. The rooms are small but we were expecting that. The main problem for us was the noise between rooms.

Part of a package booking through DFDS sea ways. For the price we paid the hotel was absolutely fine for our one night stay in the city. Location is brilliant. In the museum district, 2 minute walk from the Leidseplein. 20 minute walk to the centre. Room and bathroom was clean and tidy, small but as it was only somewhere...

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights, was fairly comfortable, pillows could of been better, shower pressure was amazing for a hotel. Breakfast was decent, not fabulous as there wasn't any hot options. Location is great, right near the Rijksmuseum and round the corner from the I am Amsterdam sign, tram line at end of street will take you...

This hotel is well located and easy to access from the airport by catching a single bus. It is quite well located, close to main attractions, as well as to tram lines and walking distance from the city center. Rooms are clean and comfortable.

What can I say - this hotel was a great find! I was initially concerned about being too far on the fringes, but this turned out to be a wonderful location steps away from the Museum park and an easy 20 minute walk to the center. I highly recommend renting a bike, and if you do everything around Amsterdam is...

We stayed at this hotel many times when it was The Acro so we were interested to see if it had maintained it's friendliness after it's make-over. We are pleased to say it has. All the rooms are fresher and modern and the lobby is much better too. The breakfast area is much the same and still offers a typical...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.

Max Brown Museum Square settles down at the Museum Square, known by locals as the central hub of the city. Location is everything in a city like Amsterdam and the Museum Square, located South of the old city, has it al. You are just a block away from the world famous Van Gogh Museum, Stedelijk Museum and Rijksmuseum, escape outdoors to the Vondelpark where you can join locals for a lovely Picnic or go for some high end shopping in the PC Hooftstraat, van Baerlestraart and Beethovenstraat.
