I loved the location of this hotel just a short walk along the canal to Leidse Straat. The rooms with canal views were all booked so we didnt get that added treat but the breakfast room is a wonderful spot for people watching with big bright windows. The lounge is quirky and full of curiosities. The hotel is spotless and...

Traditional hotel on the canal located really close to main Amsterdam attractions. We requested a double bed with canal view if possible but got two singles. The handle fell off the door as soon as we got in the room. No iron in room or behind the reception for guests to use, only one that the staff had to do...

My husband an I arrived on a Saturday afternoon and were reserved for a 5 night stay. We had a canal view room on the first floor (which is actually the second floor). The view was spectacular as we overlooked two canals and the busy active streets of Amsterdam. Our friends who live in Amsterdam live on the same street...

This hotel is ideal for visiting the sites of Amsterdam. The rooms are large and the bathroom is good also. There are a lot of steps leading to your rooms but it is well worth it. The dining room overlooks the corner so it is great for people watching while you enjoy a terrific breakfast.

We stayed for 4 nights in great room on 3rd floor at the front with great views. No noise! Bathroom spotless and good. Room very good if a little small (although this wasn't a problem). The stairs are steep but that's to be expected in these houses and that didn't bother us. My only criticism would be the breakfast which...

Great place to base ourselves for the 5 days we were in amsterdam. The room was spotless - if a little small - bathroom equally spotless - breakfast was great. Staff were friendly and helpful. It's a little bit of noise outside at night but nothing too raucous. If you want to stay somewhere with a bit of character and...

Hotel room was small but has everything we needed. Very comfortable bed. Breakfast is basic but it is a two star hotel and perfectly adequate. Loved watching the cyclist zooming past the window whilst we had our breakfast. Public rooms very traditional, beautiful.

We stayed in the family room (sleeps 4) on the top floor at the back of the hotel. Yes we had the stairs to deal with but we're fairly fit so they were no problem. The room itself was spacious and airy (we were a family of 2 adults and 2 teenage children). The breakfast room was bright and looked...

I staid there for a week and I reckon that is a very beautiful hotel. The rooms are very clean but a bit small, but there is all the necessary. The bathroom is private and there's all you need! There isn't lift and the stairs are in holland style (very small) but is a holland buildings' characteristic. This hotel is...

If you are looking just a clean place to stay within limited budget then this hotel is a very good option. Certainly it is very clean and located very nice part of Amsterdam. In case you have a problem with stairs then you may select another hotel as there is no elevator at this hotel.

Staying in Jordaan

Neighbourhood Profile
Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
