“The staff were wonderful.Michael, Sing and Patrick could not be more helpful, really made you feel welcome and gave good advice which made the holiday a success. The area is lovely - very quiet residential neighbourhood but with lots of interesting shops and great restaurants. Very close to good transport links to all the major sights of interest. I knew...

Pros: 1. Hotel was beautiful, small and quirky, very modernly furnished, reception looked well, offering sweets in a big jar, giving us maps, keeping our luggage, staff were very friendly and efficient, bravo to them. 2. Room was small but beautifully laid out, do not be deterred by the size, it's more than enough for you and you do not...

The Linden hotel is a small hotel, well situated for sightseeing in Amsterdam. Easy walking distance to the Anne Frank house and Dam Square. A 15 min tram ride to the museums. The rooms are very immaculate in cleanliness an design. We were lucky to get a triangular room over looking the canal. The packaging of the necessities is very...

Very good option in Amsterdam. It is about 20 minutes walking from Centraal Station,. Room was clean and comfortable. Only negative point is the size of the room, very small but was enough for us. Recepcionists were very kind.

We stayed at the Linden Hotel to celebrate a friends 40th birthday. There were 17 of us, all women, ranging from 20 to very mature :) I was worried after reading the reviews but our room was lovely. They are snug but comfortable, well presented and clean. We only stayed two nights and I think the rooms were a little...

I've stayed at the Linden Hotel two nights during a conference in Amsterdam. The hotel has everything you need for the perfect stay. When I arrived was already late in the evening and the staff gave me tips of where to go out to eat something. They also give you a small book with all the information necessary. During my...

We loved this hotel; as well as the lovely crisp sheets and super powerful shower, it's in a quiet residential neighbourhood and yet only five minutes walk to Anne Frank's House and a buzzing little area packed with places to eat and drink. We fell in love with the Jordaan area - you will not be disappointed. The hotel staff...

This was a perfect hotel for a weekend visit to Amsterdam. The hotel is situated in a great part of town - away from the craziness of the red light district and the tourist trap of the city centre. Compact double room - furnished to a high quality - and little touches which didn't get missed by us. Great staff,...

Nicely situated about ten minutes walk from the hustle and bustle, although a few small restaurants nearby. From our arrival all staff were excellent and it seemed nothing was to much (Michael in particular was great) only stayed for two nights but based on that I will definitely be back! I can see why people say the rooms are small...

We had a very large room with windows on three sides. I was surprised by the size of the room based on the pictures. The bed was a bit small, but we were happy it was one bed, not two smaller ones mashed together as is the European way. The bed was very comfortable, but the pillows were not. The...

Staying in Jordaan

Neighbourhood Profile
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
