This hostel is cheap and well located, close to museums and staff is pretty nice. I stayed in a room with 12 beds, thinking there would be 6 bunk beds beds, but there were 4 3-level bunk beds, so imagine staying at the very top it's not convenient at all! There is no kitchen or anything to make yourself a...

There are plenty rules and come with hefty fines if they're not adhered to. Checking out late, after 10 am, is charged with an entire days extra cost. The hostel also only takes cash, so make sure to have some on hand. A deposit for the room key is required. The showers and bathroom are small and relatively cramped, but...

How to start... Here are many reasons why you should not go to this hostel when bagpacking: - rooms are small and not that clean - no kitchen/fridge to store your food or cook so you have to eat outside - you need to pay for everything: lockers, key, luggage storage (we needed to pay 3€ to store our bags...

Worst place I've ever been to, sleep on the streets might be a better idea than this hostel, the rooms were dirty, the staff is either rude or useless, if you arrive before ypur check-in time they don't let you inside of the place, security is terrible as well.

I couldn't wait to leave this hostel. The toilet in our room still had poo inside of it when we checked in (not just stains, but small pieces of it sitting in the bowl), the floor was covered in dirt and the room smelt bad. To make matters worse, when we told the receptionist that there was still poo in...

A few friends and I visited Amsterdam on a backpacking holiday in the summer of 2015. As we were quite late in booking it meant that there wasn't much choice left of the higher rated hostels/hotels so we ended up staying at hostel Cosmos. Prior to arriving we read a number of terrible reviews on the hostel on this website...

This is the most horrible hostel I've ever seen. Rooms are small, no lader to go on the upper bed, you have to go up the toilet to go into the shower, staff not friendly, price too high considering the quality. Except the cat, nothing is nice there ! Run away from this place.

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
