Our two night, two day stay was quite enjoyable at the Sunhead. Centrally located, easy to find. Red Tulip room is on third floor with beautiful view of canal. Clean bath/shower, plush towels. Microwave, coffee/tea, refrigerator in room. Narrow spiral stairs a bit difficult with large suitcase. Delicious breakfast and friendly service.

We stayed in the Yellow Narcissus room - clean, comfortable and full of character. Carlos is charming and helpful. He opened up the red room for us to use as it was empty and it was nice to have the extra space. His breakfasts are very good - we had four breakfasts and he made a different hot egg dish...

We stayed at the Oude Waal apartment. It was clean, comfortable, peaceful and in a good location. We met Carlos at Sunhead on Herengracht to pick up the keys. He was helpful, providing a map and information about the locality. Overall this was a very good experience.

We stayed for 4 nights and had a great time. Carlos made us feel very welcome, a real home from home. Breakfast certainly lived up to all the fab reviews. We've been to Amsterdam many times and this has to be one of the best located places to stay. Lots of good restaurants close by and a great Dutch pub...

Hello Carlos and Roelf-Jan, Our two-day visit with you at Sunhead of 1617 was truly memorable. Our breakfasts, which included unique and tasty jams made of quince and lemoncello liqueur or rhubarb, nectarine and rose petals. It was delicious and delightful, served with homemade bread or rolls and fruit compote. The atmosphere, enhanced by Carlos’ hand-painted murals created a memorable...

I can't recommend the Sunhead highly enough. The red tulip room is delightfully quirky, with gorgeous views and the B&B is perfectly located for sightseeing. I still wake up dreaming about the breakfast - oh what a breakfast - the homemade jams, the soft-boiled eggs, the freshly squeezed orange juice...! Carlos could not have been more helpful or kind. The...

I would thoroughly reccommend the Sunhead B&B and indeed will be to everyone I meet who plans to visit Amsterdam. My partner and I stayed in the Yellow Narcissus room for over the New Year period and had a wonderful time. The room itself is lovely and warm (essential if you visit Amsterdam in winter) and has everything you need...

It is beautiful place for staying during journey in Amsterdam. We stayed here for 1 week in September'2008. We choose Sunhead 1617 and never regret about it because: 1. It has perfect location – quite district, 10 minutes walk from Dam and Central station. 2. Carlos made delicious breakfasts – fresh orange juice, Holland cheese, fruit salad with whipped cream....

It was like living in a different world! I did not want to close my eyes until I fell asleep. Breakfast was always delicious, especially the home-made jams & cheese, coffee & fresh bread. Carlos knows how to pamper his guests. I felt like family. Leaving was sweet sorrow.
