My partner and I booked the hotel for a weekend break. We were welcomed quite enthusiastically by the owner and asked for our credit card on arrival. I noticed that he wanted to charge us for a higher amount than agreed (ie credit card surcharge) and agreed to pay cash the following morning. That was lucky. When we got to...

My wife and I spent 4 nights there at the end of June. In all of our travels in Europe, this hotel would rank at the bottom of our list. Bathroom trash was not emptied the entire time we were there. We wondered if there was any cleaning of the room at all. There were room darkening curtains on only...

I had a reservation for three nights in a canal-view room, which I confirmed before leaving the States. The first two nights were for one weekend and the last night was for Saturday night the following weekend. When we arrived (after walking through the rain), we were informed that they didn't have any canal-view rooms left for that night. So,...

The hotel is okay but it has problems and it seems hard to justify the price. Comfortable beds, small rooms, but furnished decently. Nice breakfast but not served until 9 am. Not exactly great timing for go-getter tourists who want to be first in line at museums. That said, we found that nothing else opened that early in Amsterdam anyway...

this hotel definitely gets mixed reviews. The room was tiny, even for europe, but the bed was comfortable. The location was great during the day because it was right along the canal with great access to cafes, shops and trolleys. It was also back to back with a dance club that plays loud music till 4 in the morning,so unless you're a night...

Management response:

Firstly could the person who wrote this review please contact the hotel so we can address these problems. With regards to dance or night clubs , there are none of these in this quiet area and there is a strict 11pm curfew on any noise. Also I would like to say that there is postively no way that the owners...

This was the worst stay ever in Amsterdam. We usually stay at Hotel Wiechmann, which is wonderfull!. Mr.Ham, owner of the Waterfront told us that as he had plumbing problems the promised room was no longer available. He then put us in a dingy little room way up in the attic with no view what so ever, terrible. And now...

When we arrived Willem Van der Ham (manager/owner) informed us that there had been a mistake with the booking and our triple room was not available. We were given a fold-up bed and squeezed into what was now a cramped double room. This didn't concern us greatly and at this point I had no reason to believe this was anything...

Shamone! We stayed at the Waterfront as a group of 3 girls. When we arrived we were greeted by Mr Van der Ham and given a guide to the city. Our room and en-suite bathroom were very clean and we had clean towels and maid service every day. Canal view great. Location great, within walking distance to all main attractions...

We were in Amsterdam for a few days early April and had booked this hotel over the Internet using their website ------ and we liked it very much. Helpful and friendly services and the rooms were very nice. We had a room with canal view and especially in the evening we had a marvellous view. The hotel is immediately in...
