The hallway and stairs to this hotel need a lick of paint. Very dated and neglected. Rooms were okay. Bathroom was quite big. On the Saturday morning when I got up I noticed mouse droppings on the table. Later on that day the mouse made an appearance 3 times!! We were moved rooms but it dampened our experience as we...

the stairway, hall and reception were really shabby, several walls were not finished or under construction. The room itself was ok, but several things were not yet finished, eg the water tap was loose. too expensive compared to the quality offered.

This is by far the worst hotel i've ever stayed in. It should not even be called a hotel. The sheets are nothing to write home about. My body was itchy the next day. no curtain/blind in their attic room. So i was awakened at the break of dawn at 5:00am when it became bright. They refused to change the...

I will talk about one thing : the beds. The sheets were so dirty, my boyfriend and I think they hadn't been washed...and if they had been washed, it was very poorly done. We asked to change them but we were very disappointed.

Hotel with a really great location! 20 minute walk from the center, tram stop at 50mt, perfect for exploring the city. The room was really nice and clean. Excellent value for money. Perfect if you aren't very demanding and want to spend a few days in this beautiful city, without spending a lot. Friendly staff. Highly recommended!

So me and my friend spent a long and unpleasant night at a hostel and last min decided to go look for a hotel instead. Of course as any European standard hotel room, bathroom and beds are small but for last min the prices was very good. It is like a 20 min walk from dam square but you can...

Stayed here for 2 nights from 30th September with a friend whilst visiting the Ocean Warrior. After problems before arriving with the whole deposit and payment issues I was sceptical. Room was of decent size and clean. Very basic with TV, shower/bath and air con. We had a twin room. Although basic it's ideal as we only went to room...

So... this place was pretty standard for a hostel (which is a better description than "hotel"). Nothing about this place is nice, per se, but it is more than adequate for sleeping arrangements. It's a bit outside of the very center of the city, but is bike-able, or for the fit, even walk-able (although I used uber, due to its...

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighbourhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
