The room was beautiful and spacious and had everything I needed and more. Chris and David were very friendly and made me feel most welcome with their nice gestures. Location is great too. Definitely booking again in my next trip to Amsterdam!

Having spent many nights at the Tulip B&B where we settle in and make ourselves at home, we needed a place for this part of our trip that didn't have to be so spacious and long term and the Guesthouse was perfect! We were not surprised by the beautifully crafted space - anything 'Tulip' is classy and comfortable. We thought...

A little gem - well located - in Amsterdam. It is ideally placed as a starting point for the discovery of Amsterdam. Starting from the guesthouse one can weave one's way through the various quarters of the city. The room was great with a number of cute flourishes and the usual items one expects from a first rate B&B. What...

This place is the best. Many hotels in cities like Amsterdam cost a fortune. This one we found for a reasonable and comparable price to other hotels in the area. We chose it initially because of the location, the charm in the photos but most of all the reviews. When arriving, we were met by David who we had arranged...

Stayed in the guesthouse. Very nice room and bathroom with kitchenette which the hosts keep stocked every day with fresh water, juices, fruit, coffee and even Heinekens! Very clean. David, Chris and Nicki are extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. Couldn't be in a better location. Access to all public transport plus almost everything is walkable. They have a "concierge" app...

Great location right in the middle of old town. VERY hospitable and friendly hosts. Room and bathroom are impeccably clean. All amenities are described in recent reviews - very generous and comfortable. We were provided with all kinds of free snacks, drinks and even a compliment prosecco on arrival and a gift on the last day. Sounds too good to...

Normally I don't write reviews but this place deserves an exception. The location is perfect, really convenient in the centre of the old part of town. We did buy a 3 day pass for the public transport ahead of time but in fact we never used it. Amsterdam is compact and this guesthouse is literally in the middle of everything....

Loved this cosy, homely B & B and would highly recommend, the staff are friendly and was offered a coffee and some sightseeing tips on arrival which was a nice touch. Cute furnishings and loved the style of my room. Thank you to David who checked me in and showed me where everything was, really nice guy. Looking forward to...

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
