I got this hostel on a cheap deal and ended up paying €10 a night. I went in with no expectations (other than that there will be a bed) and it was worth all the money! Location is AMAZING. You're near to litetally everything in centrum, and the museum district is not a long walk away. Only 5-10 mins walking...

A little more expensive than some of the other places, but it's a great location. Place was clean and facilities all worked. It is right in the red light so bring ear plugs if you're a light sleeper. Also shout out to all the staff especially Andis (Andrew) who was awesome for showing us where to go and making our...

Arrived on a Thursday evening...in a room for 5. There was one plug in whole room! Our private shower turned more or less cold by the 2nd person, the next morning we where woken by 7:30am with not only a church bell chiming every hour but also builders smashing stuff, drilling holes with their radio on...but the worst thing, the...

I am giving it 3 stars for the perfect location and also for the friendly staff. The rooms are just OK, nothing special. They are OK clean. The hostel is just OKAY. I did not check any other hostels around, so I have nothing to compare it to in Amsterdam, but for what I heard, most Hostel in the area...

For just 8,90 € I couldn't ask for a better place. I was in the first floor, rooms and bathrooms were cleaned. The position is excellent and if you need something there's a pub in the hostel and there's a supermarket at 100 mt. The staff is very patient and always kind. Also, in the hostel you can get discounts...

The rooms are nice and modern and it's very convenient in the center of the city. The only downside is that it is extremely loud on the street outside (it's in the red light district) and there's no AC so we kept the window open and the smell of weed wafts in with the excessive noise. And the wifi is...

I recently stayed at the white tulip hostel while I was on a four day trip in Amsterdam. I want to start by saying the staff are lovely, very friendly and very helpful! Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
