The City Hotel is sited just beside Rembrandtplein, with its entrance on Utrechtsestraat. This puts it close to the centre of Amsterdam, with easy access to the Rijksmuseum, the Amsterdam Hermitage museum and the Flower Market. Rembrandtplein is an interesting spot on its own with numerous restaurants and even more numerous pubs nearby. This is both good and bad. The...

As a base to explore the city, you could ask for nothing more. It was a clean, modern hotel about a 5 min walk from the central station. Breakfast was ok and the room quiet and comfortable. We had wifi and a TV in the room. The staff were pleasant and helpful.

The hotel was as basic as you can get. Clean and welcoming for a low price. The location was perfect. A man hotel. Not the kind of place that a wife would feel pampered in. the room was big but did not have any extras. The beds were simple and not built for comfort. overall this was a hotel to...

This hotel was clean and lovely. Breakfast served in the morning. WIFI only in the main lobby. staircases are difficult to manuever. Our room was not so clean. One of the pillows smelled of urine and sweat, the washroom continually smelled (and it wasn't from us)! Staff was very helpful, hotel also expensive for what you got. I'm sure there...

The location is great and so are the beds. Since we was there in the middle of the summer, the lack of air condition sucked. But the beds.. Damn those beds. The breakfast was ok if you are happy with only some bread and a few things to put on top of it. warm juice.. worst thing there is when...

This place is fabulous! Modern, clean rooms/bathroom, awesome location, breakfast included, and so close to Amsterdam Centraal! I was literally able to walk to the hotel from the train station. The staff was friendly too. I was impressed.

Reading through a handful of the reviews here I feel like I stayed in a different place almost, when staying here for a few nights we got a twin room which was great, the beds were good, the bathroom we got was huge and had a great shower, we were provided with toiletries and new towels/beds made every day. While...

My wife and I were extremely satisfied with our stay at this hotel. The location is superb. The staff were very friendly, proactive and supportive. The breakfast was enough. Shame, WiFi was only at the reception area. Thank you, managers, you are doing your work the way it should be done!

Staying in Centrum

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
