We stayed here only for two nights, but we felt like we lived in Amsterdam. The location was great....on a quiet street in the Jordaan neighborhood, but close to everything. It's within walking distance of the Central Station. The only drawback for some would be that as a typical dutch house, there are 28 narrow steps to reach the living...

When I booked, I informed the staff that this was a special surprise for my wife's birthday present. The owners could not have been more helpful, with Godfrey even booking me a place at an excellent restaurant for the night of the birthday. The whole experience; the breakfast in bed, the comfortable bedrooms stylishly decorated and the charming staff gave...

The room was decorated very nicely and with high quality. Bed is extremely comfortable, and the shower too. Breakfast is very nice. The owner was abroad, but replaced by a very kind lady. Highly recommended!

Sjudoransj is a very charming, modern B&B in Amsterdam's 'De Jordaan' quarter with two beautiful rooms. I stayed in their 'Van Gogh' room, a spacious room to the front with a contemporary and airy, yet cosy feel. I walked in and immediately felt at home – the fantastic, large bed with lots of cushins surely added to that! I also...

I was very impressed with the cleanliness, the linens and the location. We were very close to the canals. We could get to Anne Frank House in about 10 minutes. There were great restaurants very close by. Godfrey was great to answer all my questions in advance and help me with restaurant recommendations also. I would recommend this place to...

I loved this place. It's in the Jordaan area of Amsterdam and within walking distance of everything. The room is spotlessly clean with crisp white bedding and lovely complimentary toiletries in the en suite. The breakfast is brought to your room at a time which you request and it was all super fresh and delicious. I would highly recommend this...

We were thrilled with our stay- we were in the Vermeer room that faced the courtyard and LOVED it. We had total privacy and felt like we had a flat in the city. Good size, luxury linens and furnishings, and on a very quiet street. The breakfast was great too- plenty for breakfast with enough to make sandwiches for lunch!...

This B&B is located in the quiet, centrally located, shopping district of Jordaan. Godfrey is a wonderful host, doing all the little things that make a big difference! The room was very clean and he fixed up the room each day. The towels and sheets are crisp and white, the bed was a comfortable king size, a cabinet contains teas...

Took both rooms with friends for 4 nights. My wife and I enjoyed the room with French doors overlooking the rear garden. It was very quiet except for the gentle tolling of a church bell several blocks away. The 27 stairs at first seemed a challenge, but are no obstacle to the young or fit. The hosts were charming and...

This B&B is perfectly located in the heart of Jordan district which is for us the nicest area in Amsterdam. The B&B is located in a quiet street and very close to the canal, nice restaurants and bars. The room is very nice: quite big, bright, quiet, clean. The bed is really good too! I highly recommend this place.

Staying in Jordaan

Neighbourhood Profile
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
