I stayed only for one night in Amsterdam and wanted a hotel that was central to make the most of my time there including a comfy and pleasant stay. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The hotel had a gothic chic vibe! Very clean and lovely rooms. The shower was amazing after a day of walking. The bed was...

The Staff In this Hotel (literally ALL of them!) are the most helpful and friendliest I've ever come across, absolutely nothing was too much trouble for them-even at 2am! The location is perfect, the rooms spacious and the atmosphere just wonderful.

Enjoyed my stay at the hotel as the location was great, very comfortable rooms. The staff was very helpful and friendly. A very creatively done hotel with interesting details in your room. Great coffee machine with very nice coffee is provided in the room for a great start of your day.

Super awesome hotel. The staff was amazing and super friendly. The location is absolutely perfect. Everything is within walking distance and not to far from main attractions. The room was bigger than expected which a was huge plus. The room was clean and well maintained. The staff made us feel extremely welcomed and we will definitely return to this hotel...

We stayed for one night en route to a Far East destination. The staff were very friendly and check-in was effortless. The bedroom was a decent size, but sparsely furnished - scaffolding for hanging space, a wall-fixed TV at right angles to the bed, a black toilet. The bed was comfortable and the shower worked, and the room was quiet....

i thought the hotel is a bit too hip to my liking, but the decor is tastefully done. room size is ok for european standard (i stayed at superior double). the restaurant downstair The Lobby is quite trendy and packed at night, opens early in the morning -- tasty food. located just between Dam and Spui so going around the...

Due to weather my partner and I had to reschedule our flights leaving us with an extended stay in Amsterdam and needing to find somewhere to stay for an extra two nights. We stumbled across this place and booked with them immediately. It was like a breath of fresh air compared to our last stay (which unfortunately wasn't very pleasant)....

Boutique, quirky kind of hotel situated in the hub of Amsterdam. Rooms I have stayed in are quiet, and very clean, breakfast in hotel restaurant is delicious. Like the touch of hotel name tab ironed into tshirts laundered. Will be back....

The hotel staff could not have been more helpful, accommodating and very knowledgable about the place. Rooms are very small. Not enough place to store your clothes and luggage as it was a open concept wardrobe ,I really feel it should be cover who wants to display all the things they have in hotel. Rooms are clean but the housekeeping...

The staff are fab and left us a little surprise of a bottle of bubbles as it was my boyfriend's birthday. Breakfast was amazing; not a drop of grease on the full English and the scrambled eggs were delicious. The best thing about breakfast is you can go down anytime before 12 so you can recover from a big night...

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
