Fantastic location, great food and truly superb service... The staff of V makes a difference being highly attentive, well informed regarding their menu and has eye for details....! We enjoy a birthday brunch today and where treated with the best table and a free glass of champagne... just because our waiter 'picked up' that we where celebrating. Thanks guys...!

We stayed at this hotel for two nights in early January. The hotel is central and the décor artistic and funky. The room was comfortable, clean and more spacious than I had imagined. We asked for a quiet room after reading another review about possible street noise. We were not disturbed during any part of our stay. The staff were really...

We were visiting Amsterdam with family and booked two rooms at the V. Our stay here was very pleasant. Our rooms were comfortable, clean, and spacious. The breakfast was exceptional and the service and staff at the hotel sets it apart from others. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Amsterdam.

My fiance and I were visiting my parents in Amsterdam for the holidays and as a gift they booked us 4 nights in this boutique hotel. Our room was on the 2nd floor facing the small street in front of the building. The entire hotel including the rooms were decorated so beautifully-I loved it. I felt as if I had...

I stayed only one night at this chic hotel (before starting a Viking River Cruise) and it was perfection. Upon arrival in the early morning (about 9:45) I was told (as expected) that my room was not yet ready. I checked in with the charming, bearded, hipster-dude at the front desk (who was extremely polite and helpful) left luggage, and...

Urban, hip and chic boutique hotel in the heart of Amsterdam. While only a short walk from Dam square, it felt like an oasis from all the tour bus groups. Rooms were large and stylishly appointed The downstairs restaurant and bar were great and frequented by locals/non-hotel guests Highly recommended!

Everything about it was truly wonderful! The staff is very helpful and accomodating. The bathroom was very large easy to use. The mini bar was nice and the prices were fair. We ate at the restaurant inside and was very happy with that experience as well.

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel V Hotel V Nesplein for 3 night over New Years holiday, and had a really nice time. The room was very clean, and the décor was very unique, but the mattress was to firm for my taste. It was on the first floor and did have a fair bit of street noise...

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
