Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.

This hotel was very nice inside and clean. Check in was great and nice and smooth. However, one of the things I read online was that the spa was 24 hours. This was one of the reasons why I booked. Just to double check before we went up to the room I asked if this was true. The

The pool is in the hotel downstairs, usually theres no one in it which is great - its not massive but perfect for an indoor pool and doing a few laps

It is right across the square from the main rail station, the cruise port and the ferry port. Amsterdam is a walking town. We only took a bus when it rained. We caught a train to Zaanse Schans and just walked around. It is essentially in an outer suburb and there is no need for an official tour as everything is easy to get around. It was about 15min by train I think and well enough signposted to just walk the 1km or so. We walked to the Van Gogh Museum and The Frank house.
