This is ideal location if you want a good nights sleep as you won’t get one in the heart of Amsterdam unless your paying heaps for a 4 or 5 star hotel anything lower in the heart of Amsterdam will cost more and not a decent nights sleep. Also it’s one stop to Amsterdam central where all public transport leaves if it doesn’t from sloterdyk the museums are a tram ride that’s a great way to see the sights unless you rent a push bike you can get a three day full public transport card for €21 or less for no trains . I have stayed in museum quarter and I prefer sloterdyk as everything is here and all forms of transport is available to later at night than trams and buses
