This is a great hotel for those looking to visit Amsterdam without being right in the middle of it. The hotel is situated on the edge of a very nice park in a nice part of town, with a tram stop nearby that takes you to dam square and central station in 5-10 minutes. The heiniken brewery is a 10...

Spent three nights at the Aalborg hotel and loved it. The staff was very cool and helpful with recommending restaurants/bars, the breakfast was delicious, and the location was perfect because it's close enough to the city center but far enough removed that the streets are peaceful at night and the vibe is less touristy. I'd stay here again in a...

The Aalborg Hotel is in the Old South area of Amsterdam, one stop on the rail line from Schipol, and is a 15 minute walk from the museum area, and on the route of the No. 3 tram, so reasonably well situated. The room I had was small (smaller than a room in a student hall of residence), but I...

When we go on a trip to an exhibition the choice is either a few people in an expensive hotel or more people in a cheaper one. The ISE exhibition in Amsterdam is one that everyone wants to go to and so we had up to seven in our group for some nights. We saw a decent cross-section of what...

Just stayed in this hotel whilst attending the ISE trade Show at the RAI. Room is comfortable though a little small. Upon arriving late at night I was pleased to see the hotel bar was 24 hour. Bed was comfy and warm, shower always had hot water, bathroom was very much on the small side however. TV did not work...

Small but not uncomfortable rooms, friendly staff and good price for the location and services offered. Good bed, clean shower and a garden you can smoke in. The lady at the reception helped when i discovered i forgot a power plug adapter, which is appreciated.

In general it was good but I think that the price could be lower especially for this hotel because it was just decent and nothing more. The mattress was horrible but the room was clean. The employees were really helpful and knew all the appropriate info which a tourist needs. The room was very small.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights over the new year period. We enjoyed everything about the visit to Amsterdam apart from the hotel! The first night was awful, we woke up at 0330 absolutely sweltering in the heat. Not because of the December heat (!) but because the radiator was broken and was on full...

Staying in De Pijp

Neighbourhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
