The staff was excellent, particularly Pedro. Really nice folks working at this hotel, and the location was really great. Having stayed in Amsterdam before, this is definitely a very hip area and very walkable. The reason for a (3) star rating is primarily due to room size, which is unfortunate because it's not something that can be easily remedied. As...

I was here for a night in June, 2016, and was very happy with my stay. Even though I stayed for less than a day, I loved the room, which in spite of being a little low on space, was very cosy and warm. It had a big window and the washroom was of adequate size with a designated area...

I really found every member of the staff to be pleasant and helpful. There is a wonderful garden out back that was pleasant to spend time in. The location is nice, on the park close enough to de pijp main areas. The room I had was small, even for Europe, which is fine I suppose, the room was about twice...

The tiny room (cell) was THE WORST we have stayed in, ever !!! Nothing like the picture ! Nothing like the room that was shown to our friend who came to check. A plywood platform with a mattress on it (not even a bed) and a plastic chair. No phone, nothing on the walls, no clothes cupboard, no mirror. Nothing!!...

We had a three night stay at the Hotel Aalborg. The room was very small and basic but adequate. The hotel is in a very "hip" part of town which we loved. Restaurants, cafes and markets are close by. Transport into the city was easy with the tram stop only 5 minutes walk away. The staff were very friendly and...

The check in was smooth and easy. The staff were super friendly as no ask was ever too big an ask.Our room was exactly what we were expecting for the money. Small yet functional. Our aim was not to book a fancy hotel as we never intended to spend a prolonged period of time there as we only wanted a...

We stayed at this hotel for our weekend in Amsterdam and we were very impressed. The hotel is easily accessible via public transport and is located in a nice and quiet area of the City. We received a very warm welcome from the receptionist, who we had several long conversations with. She was very helpful. The beds were very comfortable...

The hotel rooms are very very small and the bathroom is even smaller. We didn't have space to fit 2 suitcases in the room. I felt like I am in the doll house. The location is good, it is a about 20 min walk to downtown but you pass by very nice places. Also it is next to a big...

The hotel has extremely thing walls and floors and very noisy guests, at least when we stayed there. We were unable to sleep because of continuous noises from all sides. People above us walking, next room neighbors talking and even folks from other floors walking up and down the stairs. Having a good night's sleep is paramount to me and...

Staying in De Pijp

Neighbourhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
