I've stayed in Inner three times when visiting Amsterdam and it's just so convenient. A bus goes a five minute walk from the hotel and once you're there, there are many trams to get you anywhere you need to be. The hotel itself is fairly basic but that's never been an issue to me. Amsterdam is an incredible city so...

Amazing value for money. Super close to Museumplein and a short tram ride to Dam Square and Leidseplein, located in a beautiful area. We were in a spacious 8-bed mixed ensuite dorm for 5 days. Safes in room didn't work so we had to keep things locked away in our cases but wasn't a huge issue. Rooms cleaned and fresh...

We booked a double room with own bathroom. After we checked-in we went up to a room with no windows (very strange). Fortunately when we asked to receive another room they indulged us (but first we were asked if we prefer our window to open or not - no comment). The new room had dirty bed sheets, but as soon...

Schooltrip to Amsterdam! Yay! A wonderful city, nice people, what could go wrong? Well, this hotel went wrong. I allready did my full research for this, and was prepared for something not that great from the reviews. Keeping an open and positive mind before going to any hotel or country is key. But still...when you arrive and you have the...

I stayed in a 6 bed (3 bunk-bed) room with friends - the room itself was so incredibly small we couldn't move - all our bags had to go under the bed because if you open one it took up the space of the entire floor. The light in the bathroom was broken and you had to reach through a...

We booked a room for 8. It was OK (clean bedsheets and towels) and the bathroom was not too bad (especially the shower which was quite big), however you can't rely on the Wi-Fi... It is really unstable. Also, prices are pretty high for a hostel of this kind. It is quite central but you still have to walk a...

We stayed on the hotel side, it was alright. The staff was pleasant, and it was close to the city centre. However I didn't find our room to be cleaned very well, just surface cleaning lots of dust and such in less reachable places than was just left behind. Not up to the best standards. But if you're not spending...

We visited as a group of 8 and stayed in a dorm room which we filled . The accommodation was fine, clean enough and had good amenities. However the staff were terrible. We proceeded outside one evening to have a cigerette and the receptionist followed us out and proceeded to shout at us and tell us that we had to...

Positive: near to museums and trams. Cleanish around the flaking paintwork. Nice ginger cat. Negative: flaking paintwork; smell of other peopls excrement (always a winner); no window in room only in bathroom; TV did not work and remote not to be found; no wifi - this year is 2016; safe was broken; pokey little room for two people; bulb broken...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
