Hotel is not located "in the city" but rather a ferry ride (ferry is free) of about 15 minutes once you are on ferry. It was recommended by Honors Desk so I can't blame my choice on hotel. Its located in a warehouse looking area...More

You would take the free ferry from the MDSN wharf to the main train station, Amsterdam Centraal. You could walk along the harbour from there. I do not remember seeing a taxi rank at the train station but there may be one. There may also be a tram from in front of the station which goes past the cruise terminal. The cruise ship terminal is a bit further than where the river cruises tie up. You will be able to see your cruise ship from the ferry.
Alternatively, you could take a taxi from the hotel to the terminal.
